ApplicationBoiler Feedwater valve in a "peakshaving" Combined Cycle powerplant. Service characterized byhigh pressure drop, cavitating start-up conditions, and high flow normaloperating conditions. Operatingcycle repeats once per day.

Flow, pressure, and level control ongeothermal production wellseparators handling brine. Thegeothermal brine is comprised of300,000 PPM suspended solidsincluding chlorides, H2S, sulphur,and various other minerals.

Challenge Solution BenefitProvide a single valve solution for atypical two valve application. Insatisfying start-up and normaloperating conditions the valve mustachieve a turndown of 500:1, whereonly 100:1 is normal in highpressure liquid letdown.

A single valve eliminating thedifficult task of split ranging twovalves with smooth, accuratecontrol. A custom solution utilizingL-Log stack trim at low lift, drilledholes at higher lift, and a uniquelydesigned piston seal.

With significantly less downtimeand lower maintenance costs, thegeothermal Camflex yields a farsuperior life cycle cost over a muchlonger useful life. The addedbenefit of superior controlperformance accentuates theeconomic payback.
