How do we describe these two women?
WHEN DO WE USE
PRESENT SIMPLE ?
1 - REPEATED ACTIONS We use the Present Simple when we want to describe actions that are
repeated: happening again and again.
The actions can be a habit, a hobby, a daily event, a scheduled event or something that often happens.
It can also be something a person often forgets or usually does not do.
Examples:
I play tennis every Sunday.
She does not play tennis.
The train leaves every morning at 8 AM.
He always forgets his watch when he goes to work.
Every twelve months, the Earth circles the Sun.
2 - FACTS OR GENERALIZATIONS
We use the Present Simple when we want to describe facts and general truths.
Examples:
Cats like milk.
Birds do not like milk.
California is in America.
They love to travel to the United Kingdom.
Windows are made of glass.

1. Usually we add s to the verb.

3. When the verb ends with consonant + y - we drop the y and add ies.

But vowel + y – we add only s
