Mission Statement

We the people of Old Mission Santa Inés, following the path of Jesus Christ, are making His vision a reality through

love, unity, justice, joy and hope.

FROM OUR PASTOR

They said, “Where did this man get all this?” And they took offense at him. It was hard for the people of Nazareth to be-lieve that God could work through one of their own, some-one they had seen grow up and who had lived a life not very different from their own. It’s hard for us to believe that God is actually able to work in our everyday lives, but that’s exactly where God does

most of his work! Washing the dish-es, driving down the road, talking with your neigh-bors—these are all occasions for God’s presence to be made known to us, if we are open to the “Spirit of the Lord.”

Welcome to Fr. Alan Wilson, who will be helping this weekend. God bless you all!

Fr. Bobby

I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me.

OUR HOLY FATHER'S

INTENTIONS FOR JULY

Evangelization: Priests and their Pastoral Ministry. That priests, who experience fatigue and loneli-ness in their pastoral work, may find help and comfort in their intimacy with the Lord and in their friendship with their brother priests.

NOTICES

Did you know? Go beyond just say-ing “no” to teach children about polite exceptions. Rules about polite-ness seem to be in contradiction to the rules we teach children about avoiding predators and responding to behaviors that make them uncomfort-able. It’s important to expand on the idea of saying “no” when someone asks them to cross a boundary. Ex-plain that there are situations where being rude is acceptable, if that’s what it takes, and help them under-stand that being polite has its limits. For a copy of the complete VIR-TUS® article “Exceptions for Chil-dren on Society’s Rules about Being ‘Polite’” visit http://www.la-arch dio-cese.org/org/protecting/Pages/VIR TUS-Current-Online-Articles.aspx.

Marcos 6:1-6

NOTICIAS
