[Okinawa] The Pinnacle - Japanese out-post. Setup order 1 x4 2 x18 3 x3 4 x7 5 x10 6 x4 7 x4 ThePinnacle Arakachi Historical Background On Okinawa island, US troops of the XXIVth Army corps advanced towards the south. On the 5th of April, the soldiers of the 7th Infantry Division had crossed the Arakachi village when they were suddenly under heavy fire from a rocky peak. Company B, 184th Inf Rgt,attacked the Pinnacle at once but was repelled. On the 6th of April, after a short artillery fire, companies B and C made a frontal attack. The Japanese defenders , 1st Company, 24th Independent Infantry Battalion repelled again the attackers. During the third attack, Company B was repelled once again but Company C, which attacked on the flank, reached the top of the hill and destroyed methodically all Japanese trenches and caves. About twenty Japanese could escape to the south. The Pinnacle was a difficult battle but it was only an out-post ! The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history. Briefing Axis player [Japan] : 5 command cards. Allied player [United States] : 6 command cards, you move first. Conditions of Victory 6 medals. Special Rules - Use "Japanese Imperial Army" rules (Nations 3). - Special Weapon Asset rules (SWAs 4) are in effect for units equipped with mortar and machine-gun (SWAs 6 & 7). - Use "Combat Engineer" rules for the two units with engineer badge (Troops 4). - Use "Flame Thrower" rules for tanks units with badge (Troops 13). - The Japanese player lays out the minefields (Terrains 29). - Use "Trenches" rules (Terrains 51) and "Cave on Hills" rules (Terrains 52).
