Oil & Gas supply chain specifics & challenges
Time-sensitive delivery to remote regions with inadequate transportation infrastructure (poor coverage by road & rail network, infrequent air service, short runways, harsh climate and weather conditions limiting operations
Expensive & sophisticated equipment, often requiring return transportation for maintenance and repair, customized handling by trained personnel, unconventional loading & unloading operations, additional space inside aircraft, etc.
Unique tools& equipment existing in limited numbers (less than 10 ww)
High costs of demurrage
Transportation of oil & gas traffic, unlike general cargo for consumer markets, is not aligned with conventional traffic routes and flows

Company Background
ABC started operations in May of 2004 using 747-243F aircraft- the first Boeing 747 freighter ever-operated by a Russian carrier.
In September 2005 ABC took delivery of 1 B747-300SF aircraft, bringing the total to 3 aircraft, and in January 2006 added Japan (Nagoya) to its network, relying on strategic partnership with Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA)
In June 2006 service to Hong Kong was launched, after delivery of 4 th aircraft
Initially operating under AOC of Volga-Dnepr Airlines, ABC has obtained its own Air Operator Certificate № 501 on October 18, 2006, thus becoming a fully independent airline within Volga-Dnepr Group.
In January 2007 ABC joined Cargo2000, becoming the 22nd airline member of this quality management initiative, and also the 1st Russian participant of the IATA-endorsed program
Headquarters in Moscow, ABC also has a network of regional offices in Asia-Pacific, Europe, Japan, and Russia.
ABC business case is built on the strategic geographical position of Russia- Trans-Siberian routes connecting Europe with Asia, Trans-Polar routes connecting Asia with Americas. Fast developing economy and consumer market in Russia is another cornerstone of ABC business concept
A network of regional hubs in Russia is being created to address traffic imbalances and enter new and emerging markets with quality service
