Who Is InvolvedAll Middle Childhood Program Faculty and
Special Education Program Faculty in the School of Education at the University of Cincinnati
Close collaboration with a cohort of six IHE’s and Ohio’s Department of Education office for Exceptional Needs
What We Hope To Accomplish
A Dual License degree where Middle Childhood graduates Will be eligible for licensure in both
Middle School (two content areas), and Special Education license (mild to
moderate).
Where we are now
Completed 2-year State incentive grant that included:Restructuring/planning dual licenseCollaboration w/ state IHEs & Ohio IRIS Center-West CollaborationImplementation of transformation zones
and Usability TestingSubmission to the State for approval
Our Next StepsThe real work of implementation lies
ahead. Support is needed for: Ongoing professional developmentCulture change and deepen buy-inMonitor fidelity to designData collection on outcomes for
formative assessment for revision
