PRINCIPAL MESSAGE As the holidays loom before us, I’d like to take this opportunity to reflect on the engaging learning experiences that have made Term 3 such an exciting and busy time. Our students have represented Bogangar Public School at a raft of events locally, across the region and in state events such as the cross country and athletics carnivals, Tournament of Minds had a whirlwind trip to Sydney, Premier’s Spelling Challenge and district public speaking competitions, the Jump Off demonstration, student fundraisers and the music concert to name a few. Having said this the term is not yet finished, today and tomorrow students across the school are involved in hands on mathematics learning through a World of Maths incursion and our Stage 3 students head off to Midginbil Hill for a 3 night camp. Thank you to the students for always contributing to your learning, to teachers for the effort you apply to delivering learning experiences that engage our students and the parents and community who continually support the opportunities we aim to provide. I’d also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Linda Constable, on her successful appointment as an Instructional Leader to the small schools in our area for term 4. I hope everyone enjoys a restful, recharging break and we look forward to Term 4 recommencing with students on Monday 15th October 2018. NAPLAN 2018 Students in Years 3 & 5 should have received their NAPLAN results on Friday last week. Well done to all these students, we had some very pleasing results. In Year 3, 56.2% of our students were in the top two bands of reading and 90% of students in above national minimum standard in numeracy. There were no Year 5 students in the bottom two bands for reading or numeracy. 2019 Enrolment Intentions While this year hasn’t finished our planning has commenced for 2019. If you anticipate moving schools in the new year or know of anyone planning on joining the BPS community next year please notify the office to assist us organise classes and teacher placement. JUMP ROPE FOR HEART Everyone was skipping, jumping, hopping and having lots of fun at our Jump Off Day last Wednesday. All term students have been practising their skipping in PE and challenging themselves to learn new tricks, as well as keep skipping for longer in preparation for our Jump Off. Skipping is a great way to increase your fitness. It is recommend-ed that children take part in 60min of vigorous physical activity each day and on Wednesday everyone definitely achieved that. Thank you to everyone who helped raise money for the Heart
Foundation. All money should be into the office by now and
prizes will be given out next term.

GRANDPARENT’S DAY FRIDAY OCTOBER 26 - PLEASE KEEP THIS DATE Hopefully all grandparents have cleared their schedules for this important day on our school calendar. Students have been busy writing and decorating invitations which should all come home by the end of this week ready to pass on to these special people in our lives. The dances are looking amazing and we are all excited for a wonderful day. The format this year will include a BYO picnic morning tea to share with your family. The canteen will be open as well as a sausage sizzle and Linda Evetts will be here with her famous coffee van. The fun will kick off at 9.30am in the hall.
