On Friday, June 22, Oakland Freedom School celebrated knowledge and culture with OFS HipHop Day.

HipHop Day at OFS focuses on the five elements of HipHop: DJing, Emceeing, B-Boy/B-Girl (dance), and Writing/Grafitti (art). The day wouldn’t be complete without the final element: knowledge.

The morning began with special guest, Oakland rapper Mistah F.A.B., followed by a media presentation by OFS teacher Brotha D, dance choreographed by Sista Kat Brown, and Beatboxing led by OFS teacher Brotha Sahfari.

At the end of the day, OFS scholars received either an inflatable microphone, or a cool pair of stunna shades.
