other documents that may have legal or religious

purposes, it is required that persons requesting

those documents be registered and be active

members of Saint Bartholomew Parish at least

three months prior to your request. We can not provide any of these documents to

people not registered in the parish.

HELP WANTED: Our faith formation program needs people to assist with

the program this September. This year we expect over 1000 children to be

enrolled in our program. We need adults to teach the faith: Sundays or

Tuesdays or Saturdays. We need assistants to help the catechist (teacher) during

class time. We need general helpers to assist with proper security and the

general needs of running a large program. Please consider donating your time.

We (the parish) will support you in this important ministry. Please contact

Sr Lucy in our Faith Formation Office for more information. 718.424.5400.

INDONESIAN MASS: On the 4th Sunday of every month mass is

celebrated in Indonesian at 3p.m. in the chapel(Ithaca Street).

Following the mass there’s always a reception in Heafey Hall. The next

mass will be celebrated on Sunday, June 24. All are welcome to attend.

TEGALOG MASS: On the 3rd Sunday of every month mass is

celebrated in Tagalog for the Filipino community at 5 p.m. in the chapel

(Ithaca Street). The next mass will be celebrated on Sunday June 17th

All are welcome to attend.

MISA INDONESIA: el cuarto domingo de cada mes se celebra una

misa en indonesio a las 3 p.m. en la capilla (Ithaca Street). Después de la

misa siempre hay una recepción en Heafey Hall. La próxima misa se

celebrará el domingo 24 de junio. Todos están invitados!

MISA EN TEGALOGO: el tercer domingo de cada mes se celebra una

misa en tagalo para la comunidad filipina a las 5 p.m. en la capilla

(Ithaca Street). La próxima misa se celebrará el domingo 17 de junio.

FATHER’S DAY On Sunday, June 17 masses will

be offered for all fathers – living or de-

ceased. Special envelopes are now available

at the entrance of the churches. These enve-

lopes should be filled our with the name of

your father and placed in any collection or

brought to the rectory. The envelopes will be

placed on the altar for Father’s Day.

We are grateful to our many catechists

and their assistants who came each week

since last September to share the Catholic

faith with almost 900 children. It is a

tremendous sacrifice and the entire parish

of Saint Bartholomew applauds you for

QUIERE SER CATEQUISTA?

Soon we will be completing this year’s Religious Education

Program where over 870 children participated! We are in great

need of more catechists – men and women 18 years and older

who are willing to give up some of their free time in teaching

and sharing the Catholic faith. Most of our classes take place on

Sundays – some are Tuesday evenings. Next year we will have

to open Saturday afternoons in order to make room for more

students. Classes are only 90 minutes long. All volunteers will

get background checked, be Virtus trained (protection of

children) and will have to take courses and workshops to assist

you in becoming a parish catechist. On Wednesday June 20 at

7:00 p.m. we will have an introductory meeting in the Faith

Formation Center (Whitney Avenue). In order to attend you

need to contact Sr. Lucy, with your name and contact

information at religiousedstbarts@gmail.com or 347-303-0380.

Pronto estaremos finalizando el Programa de Formación

en la Fe este año. ¡Más de 870 niños participaron! Estamos

necesitando más catequistas – hombres y mujeres de 18 años o

más, dispuestos a dar un poco de su tiempo para enseñar y

compartir la fe Católica. La mayoría de nuestras clases se

realizan los domingos – algunas los martes por la noche.

El próximo año tendremos que abrir clases los sábados en las

tardes porque necesitamos espacio para más estudiantes. Las

clases son de 90 minutos. Todos los catequistas tienen que ser

investigados, participar en el entrenamiento de Virtus (para la

seguridad de los niños) y estar dispuestos a participar en algunos

cursos y talleres para ayudarles en la labor como catequistas.

El Miércoles, 20 de Junio a las 7:00 p.m. tendremos una reunión

introductoria en el Centro de Formación de Fe (Avenida

Whitney). Para participar por favor comunicarse con la Hermana

PARISH CHOIRS

CORALES PARROQUIALES We are especially blessed to have three parish

choirs. The English choir under the direction of

Ernest Lehrer sings at the 11:30 am mass in the

chapel. The Spanish adult choir sings at the 11:30

a.m. mass in church and the Spanish children’s choir

sings at the 1 p.m. mass all under the direction of

Rafael Moscoso. They will soon be taking a well

deserved break during the summer months. The parish appreciates their time and talent that is shared with us

each Sunday. We will have a thank you reception for the adult choir members on June 7th in the rectory

garden. The children’s choir will be treated to a trip at a theme park this summer.

Estamos especialmente bendecidos por tener tres coros parroquiales. El coro inglés bajo la dirección de Ernest
