I have been taking on creative endeavors from an early age, and, growing up in a house of veterinarians, the ecological and biological sciences have always appealed to me as well. Discovering landscape architecture was a great development in my life because it allowed me to engage in so many of my interests and talents. To this day, that curious and adventurous spirit lives on, always seeking to push the edge of design for the our world’s vibrant, living collective.

In 2012, I took a small detour from design school and began investigating whether I needed to pursue more of the fine arts, while working and gaining residency in the state of Alabama. Determined to break the binary of art vs. design, I spent a year exploring in my own studio , taking on a wide array of creative projects. And by the end of this time, I returned to finish my MLA with resolve and confidence that my design thinking and artistic spirit was exactly what I needed to have in this profession. It gave me my voice within the creative industry. And I have been able to sustain freelance work from that studio ever since in graphic design and fine art.

My experience studying landscape architecture at Auburn University has carefully crafted a theoretical knowledge combined with an arsenal of skills to succeed in my profession. Various projects that I have taken on relate to design for urban ecologies and vibrant human culture. For me, this means engaging the world as a complex and rich collective of ideas and beings. This voice comes through in whatever project I have my hands on: from stormwater management to residential to municipal greenways. And I couldn’t be more excited to start my career in landscape architecture.
