10 Enjoy a Spritz Instead of ordering a spiked seltzer, cool down with the original summertime refresher – a bubbly Aperol spritz updated by our very own bar manager Chris Murray. Spoiler alert: It’s a splash of orange vodka!

The Hearts of Miromar hosted its annual Chef’s Challenge, an Iron Chef-inspired contest between two teams. This year, following a presentation by Chef Julien, the ladies prepared tomato gazpacho and Mediterranean tabbouleh and cooked to a draw … One team won best entrée; the other best soup.

Marc Cohen Named Marketing Director You’re already familiar with the work of Miromar Development’s new marketing director Marc Cohen. In fact, you’re looking at one of his many contributions since joining us in 2016 as creative director – the riveting redesign of the Waves newsletter. As the owner of a New York City-area marketing and design firm for many years, Marc represented a number of A-list clients, including Business Week, Forbes, ESPN, Rupert Murdoch, and the Wall Street Journal, creating

marketing presentations, films and websites to promote brand identity and lifestyle. He also designed book covers, earning numerous awards for art direction and design, including the prestigious Literary Market Place Award. Among his many accolades is praise from The New York Times for single-handedly reinventing the book cover. Marc also created posters for blockbuster movies, such as Munich, Inside Man and The Dead Zone.

Lisa Mishler has rejoined Miromar Realty in the resale division after three years at the

helm of the region’s top architecture and interior design publication. As editor in chief of Home & Design, Lisa

gained daily insight into the luxury home market and explored innovative ideas and products, influencing home design, construction and interior design. Prior to the magazine, Lisa was a member of the Miromar Realty sales team and the director of marketing for Miromar Development Corp. "I’m pleased to bring to the resale

The recent remastering of Miromar Lakes’ Signature Championship golf course added a new “old” feature, one hearkening back to golf’s Golden Age. Lucky No. 7 features a Biarritz – a large TifEagle green divided by a deep valley to create three distinctive plateaus. The 1920s golf architectural element is traditionally a long par three with an oversized green. Some of the most noteworthy Biarritzes are found on No. 9 at The Course at Yale and No. 13 at Mid Ocean Club in Bermuda. Please note: Although the course is closed for annual summer maintenance July 8-August 29, many of your friends and fellow members join us regularly for lunch and practice on the driving range!

Four Miromar Lakes’ tennis teams were crowned kings and queens of the courts during winter league play. Both 2.5 division teams – our women’s Blue Flight and men’s –

won Winter 2019 Bonita League championships. The 7.0 mixed doubles team claimed the top spot in the BonEro Tennis League and the division 4.0 women’s team won the Lee County

Women’s Tennis League’s 2018-2019 Season Championship title. The teams received championship banners during the Tennis Club’s eighth annual tennis celebration. Congratulations!

Summer Sizzles on the Courts Things really heat up this summer! Join us on the courts for mixers and more!Independence Day Mixer: Saturday, June 29 from 9 to 11 a.m. Question: What do you get when you combine red, white and blue tennis attire and equal parts social event and competition? Answer: Our annual Fourth of July mixer! Margarita Mixer: Thursday, July 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. You’ll ‘love’ this: Tennis on the courts followed by margaritas, mojitos and other adult beverages at the Beach Clubhouse. Summer Twilight Mixer: Thursday, August 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. Play, then stay courtside for refreshing drinks and the opportunity to mingle with your fellow players.Labor Day Round Robin: Saturday, August 31 from 9 to 11 a.m. Start off your holiday weekend with three rounds of fun and a little competition.

Learn, Lob and ‘Love’ Tennis Practice makes perfect and the Miromar Lakes Tennis Club offers instructional clinics plus the opportunity to learn while playing against all skill levels.Tennis Clinics are offered every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Intermediate players take the court from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by beginners/advanced beginners from 10 to 11 a.m. Please note a minimum of three players is required. Join us Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. for Mixed Doubles Round Robin play. Open to all members, players of different levels are paired up in this fun format.
