ATTENTION ALL FOREIGN EXHIBITORS Effective Jan/1992 all dogs that are foreign-born and foreign-owned and enter Canada for the sole purpose of entering CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) events will no longer require a CKC registration number but will require an ERN - Event Registration Number. This ERN does not register a dog with CKC for breeding purposes as defined in the Animal Pedigree Act but rather enables a foreign-owned dog to be awarded titles by the Canadian Kennel Club. Each dog must have its own number. To obtain an ERN, mail or fax a photocopy of the dog's foreign registration certificate with cheque or VISA/Mastercard number (expiry date, cardholder's name and signature). Provide your complete address for return of the ERN to you. Cost is $59.40 plus 5 % GST. ERN MUST BE APPLIED FOR WITHIN 30 DAYS OF FIRST DAY OF ENTERING A CKC EVENT. A CKC ERN registration form can be downloaded from the CKC website: http://www.ckc.ca
CKC FAX number: 416-675-6506

In order to protect the awards/titles earned, the non member will have a choice either to become a CKC member or to pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will case all awards and titles to be cancelled c. “these fees apply only to dogs wholly owned by Canadian resident non-CKC members and are not applicable to CKC members” Please note that the CKC membership application and the Non-Member Participation Fee forms are available on the website. http:www.ckc.ca under CKC Services and then Forms On-Line. If submitting a Membership Application, please ensure that you also complete the Non-Member Participation Fee form so that we are aware of the dogs involved. INFORMATION FOR EXHIBITORS ON THE “NEW” CANADIAN KENNEL CLUB GRAND CHAMPION TITLE This document outlines how the points are calculated for the Canadian Kennel Club’s “new” Grand Champion Title. A dog must be (1) a Champion of Record or (2) have been transferred to BOB competition based upon the owners’ records of their having completed the requirements for a CH title to be eligible for Grand Championship (GCh) competition. Points may be awarded to Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex, Select Dog and Select Bitch provided that these dogs are entered in the Specials class at any CKC dog show. Points are calculated using the same point scale as is used for calculating the points towards a Champion Title. To be awarded a Grand Champion Title a dog must earn 20 points as well as one Best of Breed and two 2 point wins. Exhibitors are responsible for tracking the points of their own dog and submitting the details on the appropriate form (downloadable from the CKC website) when they believe that their dog has acquired the required number of points. Once verified by CKC the certificate will be issued. Points are calculated based on the number of *Dogs Competing at the breed level for the Best of Breed Winner and the number of similar sex dogs defeated for the other three (Best of Opposite, Select Dog, Select Bitch). The following schedule shall be employed in the determination of points awarded as follows:
*Dogs Competing 1 2 3-5 6-9 10-12 13+ Points Allocated 0 1 2 3 4 5
* Includes the dog awarded Best Of Opposite Sex, Select Dog, Select Bitch HOW TO CALCULATE THE GRAND CHAMPION POINTS IF YOUR DOG WINS BEST OF BREED. Grand Championship points will be calculated based on the number of dogs defeated which includes the number of dogs competing in the regular classes, as well as dogs competing in Best of Breed competition. Example: If the entry in a particular breed was as follows: 4-5-2-3 and the Specials Male takes the Best of Breed award, that dog would receive 5 Grand Champion points (4 + 5 + 2 + 3 =14 dogs) which would be 5 points.
