Also pres- ent was Orland Geigle, Prairie Pioneer and States Attorney Mark Kroontje. CAMPBELL COUNTY PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD Chairman Rau called the meeting to order. There was no old business to conduct. New Business: Lori and Gary Sombke were present to discuss construction of a neighbor’s building site which entails the raising of the ground level for a building site and erecting a retaining wall. A prior easement al- lows for a garage built on to lot 3 to encroach on to lot 4. Sombke’s concerns are that the new structure being constructed will not meet the 5-foot set back requirement in the zoning ordinances from their existing garage. The board visited with the con- tractor and was informed that plan is for the ground work to set through the fall/winter for packing and the retaining wall structure will be completed by June 1, 2021 and will meet the 5-foot setback from the existing garage. Commissioner Fjeldheim moved to adjourn as a Camp- bell County Planning and Zoning Board. Commissioner Shadwell seconded. Aye 5 Nay 0 Motion carried. CAMPBELL COUNTY BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENT Chairman Rau called the meeting to order. There was no old business and no new business to conduct. CAMPBELL COUNTY COM- MISSION MEETING Chairperson Rau called the meeting to order. Commissioner Deibert moved to approve the meet- ing agenda and the minutes of the September 1st and September 22nd meetings. Commissioner Loesch sec- onded. Aye 5 Nay 0 Motion carried. SHERIFF Sheriff Perman distributed the report for the month of September. Deputy Wientjes will be doing some of the academy training online. Commissioner Shadwell moved to purchase a new laptop computer for the sheriff office. Commissioner Loesch seconded. Aye 5 Nay 0 Motion carried. JAIL UPDATE Walworth County will meet today to discuss closing the jail. NECOG Eric Senger, NECOG met via telephone with the com- mission to set up a meeting date to compose a final draft of the permanent zoning ordinances and regulations for Campbell County so the adoption process can pro- ceed. Discussion followed on the areas needing to be completed. Senger will meet with Commissioners Deibert and Fjeldheim along with DOE/ Zoning Officer Jill Hoogeveen on Monday Oct 19th to work on the final draft. OTHER Courthouse will be closed Monday, October 12, 2020 in observance of Columbus Day/Native American Day. Thank you was read from Grow SD. Aye 5 Nay 0 Motion carried. BRIDGE INSPECTION Jarad Kranzler PE, and Chelsey Sheridan of Clark Engineering met with the commissioners to discuss the 2020 Campbell County Bridge Inspections. The county’s six bridges are in good condition and have an average sufficiency rating of 82.7%. Some areas of erosion, undermining, tree debris and girder and deck age were addressed but no major concerns at this time. HIGHWAY Highway workers are on the four 10-hour day work week schedule. Commissioner Loesch moved to sign the certificate of completion and authorize the final payment for the Sum- mit Road project. Commis- sioner Shadwell seconded. Aye 5 Nay 0 Motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION Commissioner Shadwell moved to enter into executive session for personnel at 10:53 a.m. Commissioner Loesch seconded. Aye 5 Nay 0 Mo- tion carried. On October 21, 2020, the Artas Town Board met at the home of Mayor Elaine Levi at 9:30 a.m. Present for the meeting were Mayor Elaine Levi, Trustee Sandra Waite, Trustee Jeff Krenz, Treasurer George Hulscher, and Secre-tary David Deurmier.

Mayor Elaine Levi called the meeting to order and asked for any conflicts of interest. There were none. Trustee Sandra Waite ap-proved the September min-utes as published. Trustee Jeff Krenz approved the agenda.

vironment and Natural Re-sources (DENR) has been contacted and at this time the Artas Town Board does not need to apply for another permit for industrial stormwa-ter at this time.
