Essays

Required Essay

Please answer the following question (approximately 500 words):

What can be done to enhance sustainability in your school or community? How do you plan to

continue to make an impact after graduating High School?

Please answer one of the following questions:

TOPIC A

The US Economy is currently experiencing the greatest recession since the Great Depres-

sion. In addition to the many environmental benefits that green construction provides,

there are also economic benefits. Please explain how green building can help contribute

to turning around our ailing economy.

TOPIC B

Now more than ever there are volumes of articles, data and case studies that illustrate the

benefits of building green. Those benefits include a better environment, reduced energy

costs and healthier places to live and work; yet, there are many who still resist building

green. Why do you think that is, and what would you do to help more people embrace

green building?

Please be as specific and detailed as possible.
