Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the 25 th Graduation Ceremony for the 2010 academic year during April 23 –25, 2012 at the auditorium of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, Phrathumthani province. There were 2,416 graduates from 4 campuses of RMUTSB who were conferred the degrees on April 24 in the morning.   • Assistant Professor Chariya Hasitpanitkun, the President of RMUTSB, has recently been chosen to receive the “Pra Kinaree” award 2012 as the role model in “Good People, Good Thoughts, Good Society, Following the K i ng ’ s Foo t s teps ” campa ign , o rgan i zed by Broadcaster and Journalist’s Assembly of Thai land (BJ.AT), together with press members, organization networks, association and clubs from across the country. She received the award from H.E. Air Vice Marshal Kamthon Sindhavananda, a privy counci lor at the meet ing hal l of the Government Public Relations Department on January 31,2012.

    ENGINEERING SKILLS COMPETITION The student representatives of the Faculty of Engineering and A r c h i t e c t u r e j o i n e d t h e 4 t h a c a d e m i c c o m p e t i t i o n o n Engineering skills held at RMUT

    Sriwijaya in Songkla province during January 19 -22, 2012. In this event, the team of students consisting of Mr. Chawalit Kongsiha, Mr. Phanupong Romphikul, Mr. Suphakit Sorkprasert and Mr. Theerapat Chatarop, under the supervision of Mr. Warawit Saengkaew was the second winner and the team consisting of Mr. Thawiporn Limsakoon, Mr. Nithat Pornphraraksa and Mr. Korndhanai Thongsuwan, under Mr. Narongdej Y o u n g s u k a s em was the fifth from ten teams.

Miss Nattcharo Janakul, a student of Marketing Department in the Faculty of Business Administration and Information Technology, Suphanburi campus was awarded as the Outstanding Agriculturist and Mr. Jakkrapun Onnjai, and Miss Waraporn Mali-ong, were selected to receive the Tour Guide Award for the project.

    ROYAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT BOARD CAMP

    RMUTSB PRESIDENT HONORED FOR “PRA KINAREE” ROLE MODEL CELEBRATING RMUTSB’S 6th ANNIVERSARY

    RMUTSB organized the celebration of its 6th anniversary of the founding at Huntra campus on January 19, 2012. In this

    event, Assistant Professor Chariya Hasitpanitkun, the President, presided over the celebration to continuously mark this auspicious occasion particularly in the year of

    2 0 1 2 to revere His Royal Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, our beloved king. The administrators, lecturers

    and students attended the ceremony. In addition, “Thod Pha Pa”, activity of fund raising for students who need financial assistance, w a s a l s o o r g a n i z e d .

    Honorary awards were granted to the contributors to the university and the scholarships were offered to deserving honor students.

    TRAINING FOR THE TRAINERS IN NANOTECHNOLOGY

    On March 19, 2012, Assistant Professor Chariya Hasitpanitkun, RMUTSB President, was invited by Dr. Anek Charoenphakdee, Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology t o p r e s i d e o v e r t h e t r a i n i n g p r o g r a m b a s e d on“Nanotechnology” at Sripittayakarn Building, Huntra campus.

    The program was specialized for the personnel in scientific fields with the objectives of providing the concept of Nanotechnology research and disseminat jng the knowledge of Nanotechnology to young people and industrial sectors.

    RMUTSB sent Miss Praweena Whancha-aim, Miss Charinthip Thepsathit and Mr. Thanes Karnsom-mor as the student representatives from the Marketing Department in the Faculty of Business Administration and Information Technology under the name of team as “Idea New Generation” to join the competition in the event of Dairy Farming Festival 2012 hosted by Dairy Farming Promotion Organization of Thailand, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives at Muak Lek District, Saraburi province during January 11 -17 , 2012. The activities in the festival included academic exhibition for many interesting topics, meeting and sharing views on dairy farming industry and a lot of competitions for Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Trophy .The students had proposed their project: “Dairy Business Plan” and won the 1st runner -up.

    On January 2012 Assistant Professor Pimonpan Thanarak, Assistant to the President , Miss Niramol Chanyam, Dean, Assistant Professor.Dr . Dhida Dhithabhaya, Deputy Dean and Lecturers of the Faculty of Liberals Arts gave a warm welcome to Mr.Soren Birch Rasmussen, Director of Lions Clubs International and his staff consisting of Assistant Professor Opha Yingheng and Miss Naraya Siraphanuwat, on their visit to RMUTSB. The purpose of the visit is to meet the faculty and have a talk about the opportunity of students joining Lions Clubs International Youth Camps in Denmark from July 7 to August 8, 2012.

    LION CLUBS INTERNATIONAL DENMARK YOUTH CAMP AND EXCHANGE 2012

    M r . S o r e n B i r c h -R amu s s e n , t h e M D o f L i o n C l u b s I n t e r n a t i o n a l Denmark kindly provided 4 scholarships for RMUTSB s tudents to jo in the activity of academic and cultural exchange among students from foreign countries for the second year in the Lion Clubs International D e n m a r k Y o u t h C a m p a n d Exchange 2012.

    On February 8, 2012, Office of International Relations in association with the committee from the Liberals Arts Faculty and the Agricultural Technology and Agro-Industry Faculty organized the testing to select the students based on their English language ability and Thai cultural performance. Four smart students from Faculty of Liberal Arts and Faculty of Science and Technology had passed the selection process namely Mr. Narin Pinthong, Miss Manatchaya Laykanukit, Mr. Asawarak Rachanonpoungmanee and Miss Nampen Plianma. They are going to spend one month joining the camp’s activities in Denmark from July 7 to August 8, 2012.

    Associate Professor Napat Wat janatepin, Dean of Facul ty of Engineer ing and Architecture of RMUTSB, together with the faculty’s administrators welcomed Professor Chul -su Kim and the delegate from Gyeongsang National University of Technology, South Korea on his official visit to RMUTSB in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture in Nonthaburi campus on February 27, 2012. On this occasion, they also had a discussion on academic cooperation between the two universities in the future and talked about a cooperative plan of holding the 1st Engineering and Technology International Symposium entitled “International Symposium in the Fusion Technologies between Korea and Thailand 2012 ISFT” which will be organized at GNU in South Korea from June 28 to July 2, 2012.

    GYEONGSANG NATIONAL UNIVERSITY VISITS RMUTSB

    Miss. Niramol Chanyam, Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, gave a warm welcome to Miss Su Xiang Rui from Jilin University of China. She is the Chinese volunteer teacher from the cooperative project between Office of the Higher Educat ion Commiss ion and Off ice of C h i n e s e I n t e r n a t i o n a l E d u c a t i o n Commission (Hanban). During the period of 10 months of volunteer service, she will b e t e a c h i n g C h i n e s e L a n g u a ge a t Nonthaburi campus from June 2012 until March, 2013.

    Assistant Professor Chariya Hasitpanitkun , RUMTSB President together with Assistant Professor Kitti Boonlertnirun, Assistant to the President and Assistant Professor Thitima Chinowat, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology and Agro-Industry welcomed Mr. Prapas Pinvises, the President of Sales and Marketing of AGRO-ON (THAILAND) Co., Ltd for his visit and signing of MOU at Kalahom Meeting room, Wasukri campus, Rajamangala University of Technology Svarnabhumi on April 30,2012. In this event, they had a meeting and discussed about the academic collaboration in future. They also focused on the cooperative agreement in the MOU under the following objectives: to support and develop agricultural industry, to increase the competitive ability and food safety , to support and facilitate the development of education management, research and academic services on agriculture and agricultural industry, and to support and facilitate learning resources and information technology on agricultural industry in RMUTSB.

After the meeting they jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the purpose of mutual cooperat ive academic support in the form of t r a i n i ng and resea rch facilities including staff exchange.

    Temasek Foundation, Singapore and the group o f n i ne Ra j amanga l a Universities of Technology cooperatively organized a c o - f u n d i n g T V E T Tra in ing Project . This

    project , which has been approved by the Office of Higher Education Commission, aims at offering education assistance on Engineering and Industrial Technology fields in higher education in Thailand. The first pr ior i ty of the project is on Human Resource development which was divided into three programs: 1) One – week Senior Management Programme which provides participants an overview of Singapore’s and NYP’s technical manpower training and development , 2) Two-week Executive Programmes which aimed at providing participants with an overview of Singapore’s and NYP’s technical manpower training and development and help them better manage a modern technical education institution and develop relevant and useful programmes for the industry, and 3) Six-week Specialist Teachers Training Programmes with the aim to help them deepen and widen their expertise and thereby enabling them to better develop training programmes that will meet industry needs.

    TVET TRAINING COOPERATIVE PROJECT BY TEMASEK FOUNDATION

    During March 19 -21, 2012, Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi assigned Associate Professor Dr. Montanee Sestapukdee , RMUTSB Vice President for Academics together with Assistant Professor Duangruedee Supatimasro, Assistant to the President for Research, Associate Professor Napat Watjanatepin, Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Miss. Niramol Chanyaem, Dean of Faculty of Liberal Arts, Assistant Professor Joompot Pumsipanon, Deputy Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology and Assistant Professor Tosporn Namhong, Deputy Dean of Faculty of Agricultural Technology and Agro-Industry to participate in the 2nd Taiwan-Thailand Higher Education Forum 2012 hosted by Ministry of Education of Taiwan. This forum was organized at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) in Taipei.

    THE 2nd TAIWAN-THAILAND HIGHER EDUCATION FORUM

    Ass is tan t Professor Duangruedee Supatimasro, Assistant to the President for Research was nominated to attend the first program at Nanyang Polytechnic International in Singapore during April 26 – May 2, 2012. The program focused on Techn ica l Voca t i ona l Education Management System by the model of Nanyang Polytechnic International as the best practice. In addi t ion , the trainees were t r a i n ed abou t cu r r i c u l um and ac adem i c development , creating strong relationship and close collaboration with industries, and creating a culture of organization excellence.

  • The forum was honored by Prof. Wei-Ling Chiang, Minister of Education Ministry, Taiwan for his opening remark and also by a number of distinguished speakers from both Taiwan and Thailand including Associate Professor Napat Watjanatepin , Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Architecture who spoke in the parallel session 2 on the topic of “University and Industry Cooperation” and Assistant Professor Dr. Janjira Wongkhomthong, President of Christian University was the chair of the session. There were more than 300 administrators of Ministry of Education of Thailand, Office of Higher Education Commission, universities and experienced leaders who attended the forum. The forum was d iv ided in to a two -day of academic discussion and a one -day of education visit at leading universities. The discussion part focused on sharing academic view and cooperation between Taiwan and Thailand including developing collaborative research, joint degree programs, and staff and students exchange between universities of both Taiwan and Thailand.

I n th i s event , RMUTSB admin is t ra tors had a s t u d y v i s i t t o t e c h n o l o g i c a l l e a d i n g Taiwanese universit ies to learn their policies, perspectives and education system at Lungwa University of Science and Technology, National Taipei University of Technology, Tamkang University and Nat ional Pingtung University of Science and Technology. The outcomes from this forum are fruitful to interact more closely to develop and strengthen the collaboration between universities in Thailand and Taiwan through exchanges and cooperation in related fields.
