While Southwest Florida’s sunshine and sparking waterfront make it a great place to play, Cape Harbour’s premier lifestyle makes it a great place to live. The yachting community is situated along Florida’s pristine southern Gulf coast in Cape Coral. With its peerless shopping, dining and entertainment venues, Cape Harbour offers something for everyone, all just a short walk, drive or boat-ride away. Cycling is another popular option. The League of American Bicyclists just designated Cape Coral a Bicycle Friendly Community, thanks largely to its 90-mile network of bicycle and pedestrian-friendly paths.

Water ActivitiesWater remains the ultimate draw for residents and visitors alike. With approximately 400 miles of fresh and saltwater canals, Cape Coral boasts more navigable waterways than any other city in the world, including Venice, Italy. Combined with year-round tropical temperatures, ample rental venues and easy access to launches and docks, Cape Coral is a recreational boater's dream.

Cape Harbour epitomizes that dream. Within the community, most homes and sites are waterfront and feature private docks, providing residents rare, deep-water access to the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico. Popular water sports range from kayaking and canoeing to sailboarding, sailing and power-boating. There are also numerous sightseeing, shelling and sunset cruises in proximity, as well as guided jet ski tours.

In addition, there are plenty of places to cast a line in and around Cape Coral, and along the surrounding coastline. The area is famous for its tarpon fishing and high-profile tournaments throughout the year. Besides big game and deep-water fishing, there are abundant opportunities to land smaller catches from the area’s fresh- and salt-water canals and basins, and the Caloosahatchee River. Also, fishing guides and private or group charters are available to anglers of all skill levels.

Dining Cape Harbour offers dining to satisfy any taste or mood, from casual to formal, with dining on the waterfront, under the stars or under an air-conditioned roof. Among them: Rumrunners and Fathoms Restaurant & Bar (both at Cape Harbour); Lobster Lady Seafood Market and Bistro; Monkey Bar & Steakhouse; Aji Limon Peruvian Restaurant; Brew Babies Garden Bistro; Ford’s Garage; Ariani Ristorante Italiano; The Twisted Lobster; Pho Vinh; Slate’s; and Rincon Cubano. Recently, downtown Cape Coral has become a hot spot for dining and entertainment. There are several blocks of popular places to eat and drink, and north of Cape Coral Parkway in the southeastern Cape you will find Nevermind Awesome Eatery, The Office, Cork Soakers Deck and Wine, Nice

Guys Pizza and Fish Tale Grill, among others.

Shopping For waterfront shopping, it is hard to top the retail opportunities at The Marina at Cape Harbour. In addition to award-winning art galleries and a luxury spa and salon, there are a number of extraordinary boutiques offering everything from unique women’s clothing and jewelry to candles and exotic flowers. Shoppers can also indulge their urge to splurge at various nearby shopping centers or at any one of the many independently owned and operated stores throughout the city.

Cape Harbour AttractionsCape Coral offers tours and activities for every age. The entire family will enjoy a day at Sun Splash Family Waterpark, which provides 14 acres of pools, slides, a lazy river tube ride, volleyball court, food and more. The city also has four parks that will appeal to nature lovers, including Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve, Sirenia Vista Park and the Rotary Park Environmental Center, which contains the Tom Allen Memorial Butterfly House. Rotary Park is just a stone’s throw from Cape Harbour, adjacent to Tarpon Point on the grounds formerly occupied by the world-famous Rose Gardens. Replicas of the gardens and a Florida “cracker” house can be found at The Cape Coral Historical Museum.

Additional attractions include the Southwest Florida Military Museum & Library and The Cape Coral Arts Studio. The arts studio provides a variety of arts and crafts classes and workshops for children and adults, an art supplies store and a gift shop. Also of note is the Cape Coral Art League, which hosts numerous juried art shows and exhibits year-round. Now in its 50th year, it is also the site of ongoing classes and workshops, as well as special events and fundraisers.

BeachesSouthwest Florida is famous for the unspoiled Gulf beaches of its barrier islands, including Estero Island (Fort Myers Beach), Sanibel and Captiva. All are in close proximity and offer public parking, restrooms, concessions and picnic areas. However, Cape Coral has some beachfront bragging rights of its own at the Cape Coral Yacht Club Community Park. Located directly on the Caloosahatchee River, the landscaped beach features a fishing pier, playground equipment, BBQ grills, bathrooms and other amenities. Also, an on-site restaurant, The Boathouse Tiki Bar & Grill, provides waterfront food, drinks and entertainment, as well as a marina with fuel for boats and dockage.

EventsThere is always something going on in Cape Harbour, which has countless events and happenings to offer not only during season, but throughout the year. Now in its 30th year, the Cape Coral Festival of Arts has become one of Cape Coral’s largest annual events. Since its introduction by the Rotary Club of Cape Coral, the two-day festival has grown to attract more than 100,000 people and upwards of 300 artists each year. Oktoberfest is another extremely popular event. Highlights of this two-weekend October extravaganza includes food, beer, music, rides, crafts, German bands, lots of dancing and tons of fun! The following month, the city's Parks & Recreation Department hosts the annual Coconut Festival. The four-day event features an array of entertainment, activities, food, drinks and more in a midway carnival setting. Also not to be missed: the spectacular Holiday Boat-A-Long in December, the Burrowing Owl Festival in February and the Cape Coral Cardboard Boat Regatta in April, to name a few.

Many of Southwest Florida’s natural wonders are best seen by boat, which makes Cape Harbour the place to be. The Banana Bay Tour Company offers a number of cruises and eco-tours directly from the marina behind Rumrunners restaurant. Besides its popular daily Sunset & Dolphin Cruise through the area’s waterways, the company offers a variety of educational tours and cruises, all focused on local wildlife and Southwest Florida’s natural beauty.
