This is surely the most rewarding period of my life... to see all of my students... and my friends gathered here. A big thank-you for being here with Mark and I on the 25th Anniversary of Chilworth Communications. I am not allowed the space to thank each and every one of you. But I do want to say how much I appreciate all of you finding the time to be here... especially those from afar.

The students’ placement programme has been the most rewarding and sometimes... frustrating task. But I have been given more than a 100 percent back. I only hope I have given you all a head start, open your arms to embrace change, while keeping your discipline and your work ethos... and given some “quirky attitudes”... write down everything in a meeting, make a list every day, never without your notebooks, never take “no” for an answer, never give up, check check... double check, plan ahead... see ahead... and so on. I hope I have inspired, touched you in spirit and mind and have made a difference in your lives.

You all have made an incredible difference in mine. I think I am very lucky to be able to do the work that I do... and to have all this... all of you here today. All of you going in different directions. But all of you giving time and value to this short period of time in your life... and to the friendships made.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this student programme is not only to see the way you all improve, mature... but how each group become close friends at the end of the placement. I know in all our busy lives... there is never time to do all the things we want to do... and keeping in touch with friends always seem to be low on priority. But it is amazing how some groups have kept in touch... and also with me. And all of you are precious to me. I am so proud of all my students. I am so privileged to have been able to work with all my colleagues here today.

I hope after today... a special bond will exist for everyone here... all who have done their placement in Chilworth, worked with us and shared their knowledge and skills with us.

This occasion would not have happened without the tireless work of a few... mainly Beatrice, Queralt...and the ever loyal Hitesh. And I would like to thank everyone who has helped me in the student internship programme... especially Paddy, John and Ken... and Mark who has been so supportive, patient and encouraging.

Life is hectic especially when you are young... it is a relentless pursuit of “success” in your jobs. But the truth is that when you are down, unwell... or old... your job will not look after you... but your family and friends will. So cherish them. Find time for moments like these. I treasure the time you have been with us and the friendship. I hope you will also take this Chilworth bond with you throughout your life.
