Program Description Nondestructive Testing Program is a cooperative effort between the WSU Tech and National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR). The program is a sequence of courses designed to produce a technician who understands NDT’s role in the aerospace industry, has mastered the American Society for Nondestructive Test- ing’s coursework for Levels I and II certification and has the depth and breadth of knowledge which comes from general education courses. In this program stu- dents will complete Levels I and II ASNT competencies for six NDT methods in- cluding liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, eddy current, visual, radiography and mag- netic particle inspection. In addition, the students will have hands on experience in both conventional and composite aerospace assembly methods which will al- low them to apply NDT techniques to the aviation industry. Information about Ultrasonic

Technician COC

Ultrasonic Technician will cover the competencies of Level I

and II as developed by the American Society for Nondestruc-

tive Testing. It will also train students on skills to utilize Ultra-

sonic C-Scan and Phased Array inspection materials in the

following industries: Manufacturing, Aerospace, Transporta-

tion, Energy, and Refinery. Students will learn to interpret test

results in industry specific scenarios.

Information about

Industrial Radiographer COC

This training covers the principles of Radiation Safety. It fol-

lows the standards developed by the American Society for

Nondestructive Testing (ASNT), Nuclear Regulatory Commis-

sion, and the State of Kansas. Radiologic Technicians, Indus-

trial Engineering Technicians, Industrial Machinery Mechanics

and Manufacturing Engineers all apply these skills to their

occupations.

What is NDT and what training can I complete after WSU

Tech?

NDT is Nondestructive Testing. This is a way using different

methods to inspect or test materials without physically dam-

aging it. There are several methods that are used in indus-

try. Some are Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Radio-

graphic, Ultrasonic, and Visual Testing. Our other NDT pro-

gram, Maintenance and Reliability, covers additional meth-

ods of NDT. You can find out more information about NDT
