Welcome to Eynesbury College. We invite students from all over the world to study in Adelaide, South Australia. Our education style is quite unique; in fact, Eynesbury pioneered this model of specialist, pre-university teaching. We offer a range of programs which allow students to study English language, followed by either Senior High School, Foundation or Diploma programs. We have always maintained a strong emphasis on university entrance and education pathways.

Our teachers are more than specialists in their field; they deliver exceptional teaching during lesson time and extensive individual support to students outside of the classroom. The Eynesbury AdvantageEynesbury College offers amongst the most comprehensive range of pathway programs in South Australia, which provides maximum flexibility for students to gain entry into their chosen degree program at the University of Adelaide. As a leading pathway provider for almost 30 years, we have successfully prepared thousands of students for university in Australia. Our specialist approach combines small class sizes, experienced teachers and close academic guidance to support students in academic preparation for university.

As a result, Eynesbury High School students are consistently placed in the Top 1% of students in South Australia, with more than 99% being offered a place at the university of their choice.

This same level of academic support prepares our Foundation Studies students for direct entry into their program at the University of Adelaide, or any other university in Australia.

Diploma students will experience the same small class sizes, with teachers who are specialists in their field. Upon completion, Diploma students can, for most programs, fast-track into second year at the University of Adelaide.

Eynesbury College has two campuses, both located in the centre of Adelaide near the Chinatown and Central Market precinct; it's a short walk to the University of Adelaide. Our modern, purpose-built Coglin Street campus is home to our Foundation Studies, Diploma and English language programs, while the Franklin Street campus is for our Senior High School.

Eynesbury Senior College Years 10, 11 and 12Eynesbury College was the first senior secondary college established in Australia for students in Years 10, 11 and 12.

The academic focus for all students is preparation for university. Students are expected to be independent learners but also enjoy significant academic support within the mentor program.

In addition to the mentor program, students’ welfare is supported by our two professionally qualified student counsellors. Students can seek assistance with any academic or personal matters in confidence.

Our teachers are subject specialists and are regularly involved in curriculum development, moderating grades and supervising exams. Teachers schedule time in their weekly timetable to be available for one-on-one student support outside of the classroom.

Eynesbury Year 12 students’ results have consistently placed them at the top of the state; merit awards for perfect scores are achieved every year.

Eynesbury College students who wish to specialise in a specific study area are also eligible for entry to our Foundation or Diploma programs.

What is The Eynesbury Advantage?Eynesbury College students have out performed students from many other schools because of the exceptional academic support we provide in addition to our mentor program.

As soon as students enrol, they are assigned a mentor, who will provide support to the student throughout their time at Eynesbury. The mentor is a member of the college teaching staff.

Right from the first term, the mentor will provide assistance at orientation, to log into the student portal and develop a timetable to suit the student’s academic interests.

Students meet with their mentor once per week to discuss topics such as:

The Eynesbury Mentor Program is available in all year levels and includes health and physical education. Eynesbury is able to facilitate students’ enrolment in external subjects such as dance, music and languages other than English including Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese. Please ask us for more details. High school enrolment fee is A$200.

For students who study the SACE program, a fee is payable to the SACE Board. The amount of this fee will be dependent on which stage the student is enrolled in, and the number of credits studied. The amount will be outlined in the offer letter.

Shopping centres and parks are at your door-step. Student apartments are located in the city centre and will generally cost a little more, however you are usually close enough to walk to college.

All accommodation types will require a bond to be paid. This is usually a dollar amount equal to 2 - 4 weeks’ rent. The bond is a separate payment and is not the same thing as paying rent in advance. For independent rental the bond is lodged with the State Government and will be reimbursed when you move out, provided there is no damage to the property and no outstanding rent or bills. You also need to give a minimum amount of notice if you decide to leave your accommodation. *Prices are current at the time of printing and may be subject to change.

Independent accommodation Independent rental can be a great option once you know your way around Adelaide. It can also be less expensive, particularly if you’re sharing with other people.

Visit www.realestate.com.au and select ‘rent’ then enter Adelaide or the name of the suburb you’d like to live in. These are normal rental homes. There will be at least 1 bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Bigger houses may have 3 or 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Be careful that you fully understand the terms of any independent rental contract you sign. This type of accommodation is not arranged by Eynesbury. We do not recommend independent rental unless you’re already living in Adelaide and feel confident to find your own accommodation. You will be required to sign a lease for 6 or 12 months and will be responsible for rent for the length of the contract. All agreements must be signed in English.

$200+ per week for 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom. $400+ for a larger house.

Most rental properties are not furnished. You will need to buy furniture, cutlery, crockery, bed linen, towels and electrical equipment. You will also need to cover the cost of the electricity, gas and water for the house, plus your own food costs and public transport (if in suburban area).

English language preparationThe Eynesbury College Academy of English offers programs that enable students to transition into a wide range of study options at Eynesbury and other institutions.

English for General Purposes EGPEnglish for General Purposes is designed for students who are at beginner level of English. EGP entry requirement: IELTS 3.5 or equivalent.

English for Academic Purposes Preparation EAPPThe English for Academic Purposes Preparation program prepares students to study intermediate level English. EAPP entry requirement: IELTS 4.0 or equivalent.

English for Academic Purposes (Navitas English curriculum)English for Academic Purposes develops in students the English language skills required to succeed at academic study.

The entry requirements for each of the three levels are:• EAP 1: IELTS 4.5 or

equivalent, no less than 4.5 in writing and speaking.

• EAP 2: IELTS 5.0 or equivalent, no less than 5.0 in writing and speaking.

• EAP 3: IELTS 5.5 or equivalent, no less than 5.5 in writing and speaking.

Each level is studied over two 5 week modules. The total study required for each level is 10 weeks. Students can expect their IELTS to improve 0.5 for each 10 week block of successful study. Assessment is based on coursework, exams and minimum attendance requirements.

Pearson PTE Academic PTE Academic is a computer based test of English for academic entry or immigration purposes. Eynesbury is one of South Australia's only PTE Academic Test Centres. Students can book an appointment online and sit for the test in our Coglin Street campus.
