OEE KEY USER DAY

description

Thursday May 30 FullFact organized its first user day for OEE Toolkit users. The participants came from all across the country to learn how to optimally use OEE, OEE Toolkit and RemoteCollect. The venue for this informative day was ‘De Waterfabriek’, where they use FullFact’s OEE Toolkit. Do you want to know more about this day? Read on! Key-user training The morning program was all about OEE theory and sharing experiences. The participants shared their expectations while eating a Bossche bol, the local specialty from ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Walter, consultant at FullFact, encouraged his guests to ask questions about OEE. Certain questions ended up in a discussion. Like the well-known phenomenon; how can we involve operators in OEE? And what does a low OEE means to operators? The key-users were sharing their experiences and talking about their approach, which led to various insights and responses of others. The afternoon program was about OEE and continuous improvement. OEE 1-2-3, the balanced OEE calculation, improving with POENK, in collaboration with Triodin, and connectivity with OEE Toolkit. These were the subjects Peter, Walter and Oscar discussed. The participants were listening closelyely to the presentations. A conclusion can be drawn according to Peter Gatzen, ‘’the reactions of the participants were very positive about this learning part of the day. We are very glad that this day has been such a success, all exit polls showed that all participants went back home satisfied.’’ De Waterfabriek The venue for this day was a bit unconventional. A plant where students under the supervision of teachers manage manufacturing and learn how to work with OEE (Toolkit) is pretty unique. De Waterfabriek is part of Koning Willem 1 College. Students studying at this school learn to deal with work processes. ‘’They are educated to become operators so they get acquainted with all aspects of manufacturing. In practice, students get to know about improvement methodologies, so we chose to use OEE Toolkit to get insights into our production potential’’ Joop Mestrom explains. The participants All kinds of industries were represented during the user day. To mention a few; from the chemical industry to the textile and food industry. Everyone knew about the Overall Equipment Effectiveness method, however, OEE Toolkit was rather new for some participants. They learned from experienced OEE Toolkit users how they use OEE as a KPI for improving their production efficiency. Analysis At the end of the day we have asked all key-users to fill out a questionnaire so that they could rate the day. We may proudly conclude that this day was a success and that we have been asked to organize more. We will work with ENCI to have the next OEE key-user day at their plant.
