Dear parents, One more school year has come to an end! Seriously, it has gone by like a whirlwind! The last few days have been quite emotional as we have had to say goodbye to the children. It was a wonderful year! We worked hard, we learnt so much but we also had fun! Ode to Year 3 In Year 3 it was a blast, Shame it went by so fast! We read, we counted, we looked at maps, And never took off our thinking caps! In our work we really had to persist, But it was awesome when we did it with a bit of a twist! Dear parents, One more school year has come to an end! Seriously, it has gone by like a whirlwind! The last few days have been quite emotional as we have had to say goodbye to the children. It was a wonderful year! We worked hard, we learnt so much but we also had fun!

Ode to Year 3

In Year 3 it was a blast, Shame it went by so fast!

We read, we counted, we looked at maps,

And never took off our thinking caps!

In our work we really had to persist, But it was awesome when we did it with a bit of a twist!

Reading Comprehension and Drama: The children really enjoyed tackling the text with a bit of a twist!

We worked long and hard till our tasks were done, We played and had a load of fun!

Creative, mind you, don’t you agree?

Life is great in Year Three!

Lucy, Yuri and Deana did not speak a word of English when they came to The Junior School in September this year. And here they are, entertaining the rest of the children with a little performance from a Horrid Henry story! What a testimony of the hard work and diligence that our children portray at The Junior School!

Once more, the children in Year 3 demonstrated their amazing Music and Dance talents in this year’s Music Stars Day. It takes a great deal of courage to stand up in front of one hundred people and sing, play an instrument or dance! And I think we would agree that besides talent, the children also have courage and confidence!

Trip to Larnaka Phinikoudes What a wonderful way to end the Year! Once again, the children did us

proud! They were extremely sensible and well behaved through out the

day. Having learnt about Coasts during our topic lessons, it was lovely

for the children to have the opportunity to visit the seaside and look at

some of its features. They thought about the jobs that were available

there, and we walked up and down the Marina. After an exciting quest

on the beach, we worked up an appetite, so we were very happy to visit

Pizza hut, where we enjoyed a slice of pizza and a cool drink. Of course

we couldn’t visit the seaside without having an ice-cream!

Oh I do like to be

beside the seaside,

Oh I do like to be

beside the sea!

Care for some seaweed and sea water? Cheers! No, no, we promise that we did not make the children drink sea water! It was part of their Seaside Quest to gather some shells, pebbles, seaweed and sea water. The children had fun collecting these and finding clues in order to complete their quest!

Sea weed, check! Pebbles, check! Sea water, check! Quest completed!

In the final couple of weeks of school we placed special focus on Art. The children portrayed creativity beyond expectation! These abstract drawings would cause the best of artists to be jealous!

It was a carefree day of fun and laughter and games. We had our party food and played games. The children met their new teachers and went out to play and before we knew it the day was over!

As this newsletter comes to a close we would like to take the opportunity to wish you all a wonderful and safe summer! We look forward to seeing the children in September, fresh and eager to delve into a new world of learning! It has been a pleasure to teach your children this year and we shall miss them! Thank you for all your support and the encouragement that you give to them. These are vital factors which contribute to your children’s progress! Following many of your requests, we have sent some work home to help the children keep alert and challenged. As we specified to you already it is OPTIONAL, therefore you do not need to worry about returning it to the teacher. May we remind you that perhaps the most beneficial thing that the children can do over the summer is read books consistently and for enjoyment!
