Among the Hidden By: Margaret Peterson HaddixA Book Review

By: Alex Mrs. Caso read aloud an interesting book called "Among the Hidden."

This book is about a boy named Luke. In his town you can only have 2

children. Luke is a 3rd child! He risks his life of 12 years of hiding to see if

he can find another 3rd child. Read the best book, "Among the Hidden" to

find out what happens to Luke! If you like that book you definitely want to

read "Among the Imposters" This book deserves 5 stars out of 5 stars!

Interview with Mr. TabarBy: Alyssa and Morgan

We interviewed Mr. Tabar and here is what he said. He chose to be a guidance counselor because he got to work with kids like us. His favorite thing about his job is us, the students. Mr. Tabar’s first job was mowing lawns for the city of North Olmsted. He is married to Mrs. Tabar.

Mr. Tabar’s dream job would be to be the owner of the Cleveland Browns! His favorite cartoon is the one and only

“Superman!” He went to college at Ohio University. Mr. Tabar’s favorite vacation spot is Las Vegas. Wow! We never knew that stuff,

thanks Mr. Tabar!

5th Grade Band AssemblyBy: Kennedy and Sarah

At the fifth grade band assembly the different band teachers in our

district came to our school and told us some stuff about the instruments.

Then at different times in the morning or afternoon the fifth grade classes were

able to go to a room. Fifth graders tested out instruments to see which one they

would like to play in band. Band started on October 17, 2011. On Monday, there was

trumpet, percussion, and saxophone practice. On Tuesday, there was flute, clarinet,

and trombone practice. On the first day of band all sorts of things went on.

For example, the clarinet and flute classes learned how to put their instruments

together. Band should be a great experience for 5th graders!

Sports CampA Book Review

By: Bailey   Rich Wallace's novel Sports Camp, is a wonderful book that both

boys and girls will love. In this book, Cabin 3 works to win the Big Joe Trophy. They earn points by playing, basketball, softball, and water-polo.

The main character of Sports Camp is Riley Liston. He is in cabin 3 out of the 6 cabins there. Cabin 3 works their hardest to win the Big Joe trophy.

What I liked about this book was at the end of each chapter there's a bulletin about the camp. I recommend this book to people who love sports. This book is available at the OFIS library.

Meet Mr. EnglehartBy: Mackenzie

Mr. Englehart is a 4th grade math and science teacher. His favorite subject is math. He loves baseball and before he was a teacher, he worked at Johnny Q’s Steak House. He was a construction worker too! Mr. Englehart went to school in Brecksville Broadview Heights. If Mr. Englehart could go anywhere in the world, he would go to Montana because there are woods, hunting, fishing, and it’s quiet. Finally, some of Mr. Englehart’s hobbies are fishing, baseball, and building. Mr. Englehart loves being a teacher.

Percy Jackson and the OlympiansBook 1-The Lightning Thief

A Book Review

By: Lauren In this action packed, mind bending, electrifying book, Percy Jackson is a normal kid - or so he thinks he is. This book tells the story of a kid that doesn't know it yet, but is a demigod. A demigod is half person half Greek god. In the book, though, it's completely dangerous. The hardest part is Zeus, the god of the sky, thinks Percy stole his lightning bolt! Will Percy convince Zeus he didn't steal the bolt, or will he find the real thief and return it before the Gods start war? Find out what happens next when you check this out at the OFIS library.
