FLU CLINIC
Whitewood will be holding a flu vac-
cination clinic on Thursday, November
21, 2018 from 1-3. We will need a copy
of an insurance card or a Medicaid card
for billing purposes. For children with
Medicaid, Medicaid pays for the flu
shot so the family doesn’t pay anything.
If the family has insurance, the insur-
ance is billed $45.00. If the family has a
co-pay or deductible, the family may
receive a bill for the flu shot from SD
Department of Health in Pierre. If the
family has no insurance, there could be
a $20.00 fee. you have any questions,
please call our office at 269-2264.
*Each child was sent home with a pink
consent form that will need to be re-
turned to school to receive the vaccine.

neatly. Please encourage this on homework as well.
Spelling: We are doing very well on our spelling tests and work. We are trying to incorporate spelling
our words correctly in our daily work.

Language Arts: We have been practicing short vowels and long vowel, subjects and predicates,
inflectional endings, using context clues, analyzing text genres, discussing the character, setting, and plot

your child to read nightly at home and to mark it in their student planner.
Science: We are continuing our work on animals, their habitats, and adaptations that they have for
survival. During science students are learning how to observe, make inferences, and draw conclusions
about their experiments and investigations. Ask your child about some of the activities that we have done
in class.
Math: We are currently studying strategies to help us add within 100. This includes using a hundreds
