Since the official change of positions on July 1 st , the honor of serving as your president for the new bien- nium, has been so rewarding. As I have met and inter- acted with other DKG sisters throughout the state and internationally, I feel so proud of our chapter and of each of you. Working together, our chapter has achieved so much through the leadership of past presidents and the willingness of our members to make a difference….locally and abroad. As we enter the new biennium, let us con- tinue to work together and support each other as we carry out the seven purposes of our society, along with International’s goals, Psi state events, and chapter pro- jects. Remember, YOU are key women educators and WE get things done! Remember, I am SO proud of you and so honored to represent you! I look forward to the next 2 years and look forward to continuing down the road of achievement for our chapter….. a road that has been laid by our previous leaders and you, our members! Dr. Lyn Babb Schmid was installed as our 2014-2016 International President in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Delta Kappa Gamma International Convention. Growing up in Roanoke, Alabama, she attended Auburn Univer-sity and now calls Pennsylvania home.

Her dream for the next biennium is that “in the next 60 years, by 2074, a member being honored will say ‘If I had not received the mentoring and professional development I received from Delta Kappa Gamma, I never would have made it in my career.’” Her goal to realizing this dream is a four part process: Set high quality targets, Enlist diverse opinions, Take multiple shots on goal, and Learn from experience and experiments. Dr. Schmid be-

lieves DKG is a spirit to take through life. It is not striving to be the best that produces change, but self knowledge and awareness.

Susan Pitts……retired this year from Brookstone School and is loving it! Emily Wilson is completing her degree at Columbus State and staying busy to new addition, Summit, and big brother, Mack. Because she is not busy enough, Emily has also started a new job as an academic coach for MCSD. Chelsea Woodall began working on her Master’s degree this summer at Colum-bus State University in Early Childhood Education.

Jennifer Barringer had a wed-ding in her family....her son got married and Jennifer has a new daughter-in-law. Amy Kellum’s youngest son, Sam, is a new Eagle Scout and a new graduate of Northside in May. (Summer fun cont. on page 4)

During my summer vacation...

Appearing this summer: new grandbabies...

Bobbi Kimble has a new grandson born on May 22nd in Bremerton, WA. Peter Allen joins brother, William (3 ½). The proud grandmother spent a month in Washington with her daughter, Mandi and these beautiful grandbabies. It was wonderful! :-)

Ruth Ball and husband, Ray, became great grandparents when Alaina Ruth Marie Palmer was born. She was named after her great grand-mother, Ruth and grandfather, Alan. Alaina was born September 14th weighing 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 20 inches long. Ask Ruth where she got that red hair and those rich, dark blue eyes.

Charlotte Bland and husband, Charlie, have a new granddaughter, again! Their daughter, Sarah, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Sep-tember 16th: Annabelle Catherine Robertson, 7 lbs 6 oz, 21 inches.

Becky Pavlick has a granddaughter, Taber Annette Pavlick, born to Becky’s son, Jeff, and his wife, Shepherd Chuites.
