User cycles on CybTouch

X In a constantly evol-ving market, where the amount of press types seems to increase every day, the beam manage-ment can sometimes ask for very specific cycles. This is es-pecially the case with the arrival of new types of hybrid presses.

To address these demands, and thus remain close to the needs of all our customers, we have added a special feature to the CybTouch, which allows manu-facturers to design customized cycles. Specific parameters, in-puts and outputs, enable them to manage the beam cycles or special hydraulic system on their machine. Interacting close-

A newly developed feature allows beam cycles to be customized.

ly with the numerical control, these custom cycles bring great flexibility, be it to simply manage a single additional output, or to run entirely different cycles.

A little while ago, two exhibi-tions took place in Shanghai and Beijing, where a particu-lar CybTouch PS 12 was pre-sented. Controlling a hybrid press brake equipped with a HOERBIGER hydraulic, it needed a special beam cycle manage-ment. A quite different cycle, taking into account additional external sensors (other than po-sition sensors), was therefore specifically developed.

These cycles bring great versa-tility to CybTouch, even allow-ing the integration of PLC type customizable features. Spe-cific operations involving user inputs / outputs can therefore also be managed, such as opti-mized decompression time for this particular hybrid machine.

Pulling the plug on the DNC’s

X As already men-tioned in the previous News-letter, the DNC numerical con-trols’ family is gradually being replaced by the new CybTouch family. The transition is now well underway.

As true Cybelec partners, you have been using for years now our DNC 60, DNC 600S and DNC 880S numerical controls. However, given the increasing difficulties we are facing trying to find quality components, we have to inform you that we’ll be stopping deliveries for the DNC family. Orders for DNC 880S will be taken until 30 June 2016, to be delivered in July and August. For DNC 60 and DNC 600S, we will accept orders until 30 Sep-tember 2016, with deliveries in October and November.

Naturally, we’re committed to provide support for these pro-ducts for the next 10 years. To this end, we have taken all the necessary measures to guaran-tee the supply of spare parts and / or compatible products.

Whether they were meant to control a shear, a convention-al press brake or a synchro-nized press brake, the dif-ferent DNC 60 can easily be replaced by either CybTouch 6 or CybTouch 8. As for CybTouch 12, it can advantageously substitute for DNC 600S. And thanks to an almost complete compatibility, both mechanically and electri-cally, the switch from DNC 60 and DNC 600S to CybTouch 8 and CybTouch 12 is undeniably simple.

The dates for the final discontinuation of the production of the DNC family of machines are known.

Depending of the number of axes being controlled, the replacement DNC 880S of-fers several possibilities: CybTouch 12 for up to 4 axes, or ModEva Pac when more axes and / or special features such as bending aids are needed. Knowing that the latter is 100% compatible with DNC 880S, both at a mechanical level, as well as for connections and software, the transition does not therefore require any modification or train-ing.

LED Tool locator

X ModEva’s latest soft-ware version allows interfacing the main LED visualization sys-tems of the tools’ position.

or that die. These devices also guide the operator during pro-duction by pointing out, some-times by means of LEDs of dif-ferent colors, the position of the sheet, of the current tool, or even at times the position of the back gauges. Relying on the well-known capacity of ModEva to manage multiple bending stations, our engineers have developed a communica-

tion interface that, for the time being, can communicate with the Wila Smart Tool locator®, the LED bar of PB Service Srl., and some other proprietary solutions from machine manu-facturers.
