Dear CMP Parents and Community Members, The K-6th grade students are eagerly anticipating “Watch Me Work Night” this coming Thursday, so they can show family members their favorite jobs in class. We hope all parents can attend and see the students use Montessori materials and other supplementary materials. That evening, we will be showing the documentary, Screenagers, from 6:15 to 7:15 pm. Screenagers is a documentary film on technology, children’s development and the importance of helping kids find balance in our tech-filled world. The movie is suggested for parents and students in 4th grade and up may watch it. We will also provide childcare so parents of younger children can watch the film. Have a great weekend! Sincerely, Bernie Evangelista

K-6th “Watch Me Work Night” 10/12 Join us for “Watch Me Work” Night on 10/12 from 5-6:30pm. You and your child will begin the evening by doing what they
do every morning when they arrive. Please allow them to show you what they do and how they do it. They will be working
as if they are starting a new day of class. Any job your child completes will be counted on their work plan for that week.
We encourage you to come with just the child of the class as we have limited space and double the amount of the people in the room as a normal work time.
This is a great time to see what your child does every day. The teachers will try their best to talk with anyone to discuss jobs
and material, however, if you need to talk about your child’s progress, we can set something up for a more appropriate date.
Hope to see you there!

The winner of our school wide sunflower seed counting contest is Auggie from the Golden Trout classroom. He came within 30 seeds of guessing the total number of seeds produced by our garden-15,126! Thank you to everyone who voted as well as to the entire student body for counting the seeds. The Student Garden Committee accomplished a great deal during our first workday this past Wednesday. The six members filled planting trays with potting soil and sewed ten types of veggies and flowers. They tidied our garden shed and thoroughly watered the plants already growing in the beds. Also, they covered the pvc greenhouse frame with a shade cover and filled the compost barrel with lots of dried leaves and grass. Hats off to these hard workers who showed a lot of initiative and creative problem solving! Ms. Beecroft and I can already tell that this is going to be a very productive and fun year together.
Congratulations Auggie!
