Active ECO SystemExtensive computer modeling and powertrain performance mapping was used to

modify engine and transmission control, giving you improved real-world fuel econ-omy —up to 7% based on internal tests.

Active Cornering Control All Wheel Drive (AWD)The available Active Cornering Control AWD gives drivers improved traction and greater cornering capability in turns by transferring engine torque to the rear wheels and applying braking force to the inside rear wheel. The result is improved cornering performance.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)One of three elements in Santa Fe’s Vehicle Stability Management system (VSM), Electronic Stability Control uses sensors in the steering system and at each wheel to compare where you want to go with where the car is heading. If a difference be-tween the two is detected, Electronic Stability Control slows the appropriate wheel to redirect the car and help keep you on course.

Getting ready for winterWarmer weather is by FAR, the best time of the year to own a Jeep! Few things in this world will bring you as much pure joy as riding around with your family, with no top and no doors, and no destination, just out exploring. BUT that doesn’t mean the fun is over, and with cooler temps around the corner, you have to pack up and park your Jeep! The Winter season to me is just as much fun as the summer season for Jeeping. Why is that? Well on the few days each winter that we get snow and ice, the whole world becomes an offroad park! As Jeep Owners, we have the ability, that when the roads get bad, we still can get out and go where most others can’t. PLUS, when ice and snow hits, everybody is off and out of school, so there are plenty of people to go play in it with!

But before it hits, here are a few things you should make sure you check on and have in your rig. The most important thing to have checked before it gets cold is your battery! Cold temperatures will destroy a weak battery. And if your battery is dead, it’s hard to enjoy your Jeep! So spend a few minutes and have the dealership or an automotive shop check it out and make sure it’s holding a charge properly. Also, while you are there, have them check your fluids, and probably get your oil changed. Windshield wipers are another good thing to just go ahead and replace each season. Wiper blades take a lot of abuse from the sun and mud over the summer, and when it comes to winter where we need them more, they just smear up the windshield.

Finally, keep blankets and some snacks in your ride just incase you get stuck while you are out playing and can keep warm while you wait for help to arrive. Speaking of help, it’s a good idea to keep all your recovery gear in your Jeep over the win-ter. I have more fun just getting out and pulling people (non Jeep owners) out of ditches. It gives me another opportunity to show them just how AWESOME a Jeep really is!

Hyundai, the automaker that once was an underdog in the American market, has become one of the frontrunners in recent years. The 2013 Hyundai Genesis is the perfect example. Hyundai has delivered a sedan with a highline feel at a low cost to customers—and they didn’t skimp on
