To Loving members of TFBC
Because of your supports and prayers, the Turkey Mission team was able to
complete the mission and return safely. We traveled a lot and did many
different ministries yet there were God's blessing and many learning and
challenging moments.
Each balloon and each English word were used as important tools to share
the gospel. Joshua and Esther's church has 40 attendance since they started
2 years ago. When we visited there were over 70 people and many rededi-
cated their lives and 4 accepted Christ and 8 were baptized on the following
Thursday. The church is not Baptist church but since they follow the early
church example, they baptized in full immersion.
There were memorable moments so I encourage all to come to Wed service
in November to hear the testimonies of Slovakia mission and Turkey mis-
sion team.
This week is the celebration of reformation of 501 years. On October 31 of
1517, Martin Luther wrote 95 thesis on the door of Catholic chapel.
In 1453, Turks overtook of Constantinople's Eastern Rome. The place was
the capital of Eastern Roman empire where the persecution of Christians
ceased. And Constantinople ended up existing for the next 1,000 years as
the first Christian church. However it was conquered by Ottoman Empire
and ended the Eastern Roman Empire. It is now a city in Turkey, Istanbul.
There is a famous chapel in Istanbul. Many visit Saint Sophia's Cathedral
due to the size and architect. Many Christians, Catholic and even Muslims
visit the cathedral. It was also used by Muslim as Mosque.
However, some of the arts and cross have been damaged by Muslims who
conquered the city. There are holes in the cross and Holy arts were covered
by paints. It is no longer being used for mass but tourist attraction. There is
a mosque built in front of the Cathedral.
On the last day of the mission, we visited Armenian church near Van. Van
used to be a capital for Armenia. They had the pride of their country being
the first Christian country. However, they were conquered and destroyed. It
was because it was their pride of being the first Christian country and de-
spite having many Muslims around them, they did not evangelize.
The first Sunday of November is our 43rd anniversary. To celebrate the
anniversary, KM is having Love Tacoma Revival. The church exists to
share the gospel and fill the seats to worship and go out to share the gospel
to the neighbors. When we lose the purpose, just like the cities in the Ro-
man empire, all will cease to exist. The mission and the goal of a church is
to worship, fellowship, discipleship, and serve one another and share Jesus.
I Love you and Thank you.
