BIG TREES TRAIL RIDE Report Sunday, September 23, 2018
Submitted by Gwen Nitta
We had six riders make the ride from Goat Meadow to the
Big Trees. The weather was perfect and the views were
spectacular. Lunch was at Wawona Point where we had views
of the burn scars from last year's fires as well as this year's
fire. But the good news is there is still lots of green to look
at. We could also see the smoke from the Oak Fire off in the
distance. This was a beautiful ride and it was nice to be able
to ride in the area again. Those of you who missed the ride
really missed a great one.
Special “THANK YOU” to Tina Perry-Buirch
for providing all the pictures from the ride.

6 Riders; 6 Horses; John Brown, Jodee Wilson, Peggy
DeBuyser, Tina Perry-Buirch, Morgan Tramontin and
Gwen Nitta.
We left Goat Meadow at just before 10am;
meandering up and through the forest to the Big Trees
where we stopped for lunch at the overlook. It was a clear
cool day and not many folks were seen along the way. It
was a very relaxing ride to the top and all horses did
awesome! If you haven't ridden this ride before it is well
worth the time!
.
Lunch Time. Even the horses were enjoying the view!
