WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER ON TODAY’S GOSPEL

Christians are called to commit themselves concretely in the human and social spheres without comparing “God” and “Caesar”; comparing God and Caesar would be a fundamentalist approach. Christians are called to commit themselves concretely in earthly realities, but illuminating them with the light that comes from God. The primary entrustment to God and hope in him do not imply an escape from reality, but rather the diligent rendering to God that which belongs to him.

(Pope Francis, Angelus, 22 October 2017)

LITURGICAL MINISTERS NEEDED

If you are a commissioned liturgical minister and can attend Mass here, we need your service. Please contact the parish office to be scheduled. Thank you!

PRAYER SHAWLS

Crocheted or knitted blessed prayer shawls, offered by the Blessed Sacrament Prayer Shawl Ministry, can be found displayed on the communion railing near the baptismal font. Each shawl is assembled with prayer. Please do not open the plastic bags as you select a shawl. There is an envelope for a free will offering to place in the wooden donations box near the North entrance to the church. More information about the prayer shawls is found on the printed materials by the shawls.

ARCHBISHOP’S APPEAL

The 2020 Archbishop’s Appeal Campaign has officially begun! Please check your mail box for the information on this year’s Appeal as well as your donation cards, either online or in the mail. Giving is one means we have of both growing the Church and deepening our spiritual lives. Your gift to the Archbishop’s Appeal assists in building the Kingdom through mission work, adult and youth education and social outreach to the poor, the isolated and the infirm in our communities. Our financial goal this year is 1.6 million dollars. You are invited to prayerfully consider how your household might help us to reach this goal and carry on our Christian mission.
