Key Note Speaker- Hauwa Ibrahima human rights lawyer from Abuja, Nigeria. Her bio is amazing but her invitation to the NGO conference was to talk with us on the topic of the school girls from Chibok Nigeria, kidnapped and held by the Boko Haram.
As We PrayOur prayers need to include:
Pray regarding the source of fundsRansom for the girlsProtection funds from rich people and the
GovernmentDonations of sophisticated weapons from
Libya and of course whoever supplies Libya with arms.
Pray that the powers and principalities can be unlocked and the right questions are being asked of the media.
Ask, Seek and KnockAsk that the girls be found safe.
They believe that the girls have been separated and sent to several camps were they are possibly being used as human shields and slaves and worse.
Seek for God’s intervention- that they Boko Haram may seek His face and see their ways
Knock so the doors will be opened to find the girls Pray that the cattle herders, fisherman
and other groups may see the camps and help the government find the girls.
Pray for Common Humanity- that the God who binds us all, that they may seek His face.
Pray that the Ebola Concern in Nigeria does not over shadow the plight of the girls.
Mostly as you pray, put a name and a face to your prayers
I am proud to report that 22 young people from across the 5th District submitted art. They ranged from age 4 to 15. The success of this project supported by our Episcopal President came about with the support of our YPD Directors. I received calls from moms, grandmas, and YPD Directors wanting to get involved. I know the Midwest Conference YPD used this project as part of Self Denial. However you used it in your conference I was so excited to report the response that you showed. And because of your overwhelming response I was asked to submit an article to the WMS magazine. I have posted the art of the young people here so you can see what World Peace looks like through the eyes of some the Fifth District Young People. Thank you for allowing me to serve as your District NGO Liaison.
