ABOUT CARTAGENA Cartagena de Indias is the fifth largest city in Colombia and is considered the most important tourist destination in the country. Because of its strategic location in the Caribbean, it was the main port in America for the Spanish empire during the colonial period, as well as a refuge for treasures and riches. Its fortifications and walls earned it recognition as a Historical and Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 1984.

The city offers 11 kilometers of beaches and an archipelago of nearby islands, ideal to enjoy the breeze, the sun and perform all kinds of water sports; lots of streets, alleys and walls, plazas and parks where you can feel and live the mix of cultures between Carthaginians and visitors, natural settings, among other spaces that make the city considered to be the birthplace of magical realism.
