RESEARCH EXPERIENCE I. 111Indium-antimyosin Imaging of heart for the Detection of Myocardial Necrosis: 1) Participated in the multicenter international clinical trial of Indium-111 labeled antimyosin antibody imaging for the detection of acute myocardial infarction. 2) Delayed cardiac imaging with 111In-antimyosin in patients following acute myocardial infarction to define the time window for observing positive localization of this agent in the infarcted myocardium. 3) 111In-antimyosin imaging and equilibrium radionuclide angiography in patients with AIDS to detect the cardiac involvement. 4) 111In-antimyosin imaging in patients with suspected Adriamycin cardiotoxicity to investigate the mechanism of anthracycline-cardiotoxicity in human heart. II. Ambulatory Monitoring of Left Ventricular Function 1) Detection of spontaneously occurring silent left ventricular dysfunction in patients with non-Q wave myocardial infarction and unstable angina. 2) Detection of silent left ventricular dysfunction in response to mental stress in patients with coronary artery disease. 3) Clinical validation of a new portable on-line left ventricular function monitoring device. 4) Effect of myocardial revascularization on mental stress induced left ventricular dysfunction in patients with coronary artery disease. III. Exercise Testing



1) Evaluation of newer anti-anginal agents: Ranolazine, Carvedilol, several formulations of nitrates, and Amlodipine using serial treadmill exercise tests and Holter monitoring. 2) Variability in treadmill exercise performance in chronic stable angina: Clinical significance. IV. Psychological Factors and Coronary Artery Disease 1). Interaction between psychological profile and mental stress provoked left ventricular dysfunction in patients with stable coronary artery disease. 2). Spontaneous variability in the mental stress induced left ventricular dysfunction in patients with coronary artery disease. 3). 2. 2R44HL062770-04A1 Pak (PI) 05/01/2007-02/29/2010 NIH/NHLBI: Tc- Molecular Targeting Technologies Inc, West Chester, PA 99m glucarate for chest pain triage in emergency room. The aim of this project is to conduct a multi-site clinical trial of cardiac imaging with Tc-99m glucarate in chest pain patients suspected with ACS, but with no obvious signs of MI and having prior coronary artery disease. Total Budget $ 2.2 million. My Role: Consultant and Chairman of the multicenter study.
