From The Pastor’s Heart
I have seen the best of you in the worst of times.
As hurricane Harvey hit I had the privilege to see you react as the people of God are expected to react. During the critical hours of the storm and the recovery afterwards so many of you did so much. You gave your money, time, energy and some even your physical health to serve others in their time of need.
I have been so proud of you as a church. I have been amazed at you as individuals. Your spirit of love and generosity has been a great source of joy and encouragement to so many. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
As you may well know our facilities were in bad shape after the storm and ministry that followed. Our property and space committee are working diligently to restore our buildings. Soon and very soon we will be able to use them again. Thank you for your patience during this time of recovery. Due to careful money management the last many years and recent donations we are able to cover the cost of much of these repairs. At this time, I do not know if it is enough. Please join me in praying for God’s provision as we work to get things fixed.
The important thing is that we continue to meet in our Sunday School Groups and for Worship. Currently we are having our regular Sunday School at 9:15 and Worship at 10:30. This will be the schedule until January. We also will have a prayer meeting every Sunday night at 6:00pm. Please make every effort to attend both the morning as well as the evening activities here at FBC.
On Wednesdays our schedule is adjusted as well. A midweek service starts at 6:00pm. Choir follows at 6:45pm. Our youth meet at their regular time. Our children will resume Awanas as soon as the children’s building is operational again.
Again, thank you for all you have done and all that you are doing now in the great ministry known as First Baptist Church Huffman.
See You at Church
