Oct-Dec 2020 Mission Statement-Sunshine Foundation answers the dreams of children, ages three through eighteen, who have severe or profound physical/developmental/intellectual challenges or trauma from physical/sexual abuse, and whose families cannot fulfill their requests due to financial strain that the child’s illness may cause.

This holiday season, several Dreamers were pleasantly surprised with gifts from two automobile clubs, Valley Forge Mustang Club and South Jersey Region Antique Automobile Club of America. Thank you for spreading joy!

Members of the Valley Forge Mustang Club delivered toys, a new winter jack, food and plenty of Christmas spirit to Grayson, 8, who has low-functioning autism. “We feel so lucky to have received such amazing gifts and food, that is one less stress for me this year,” said Grayson’s mom, Kara.

The South Jersey Region Antique Automobile Club of America (SJRAACA) partnered with the Sunshine Foundation to send gift cards to local special needs children for Christmas. The children who received gift cards from SJRAACA are (from left to right) Marina, who has spina bifida; Tristin, with low-functioning autism; Mary, diagnosed with type 1 diabetes; and Joseph, with cerebral palsy.

Ten-year-old Jerry, diagnosed with hydrocephalus, received his wish for a customized playset. Jerry’s mom said, “Jerry is really enjoying the playset. Climbing and moving around is helping so much with his strength. He looks forward to getting to go outside to his very own playground.” Jerry’s swing was sponsored by Taylor Stuart and Family, of the All Volunteer Central Florida Chapter.

Ethan, 15, with PTSD from trauma, wished to visit local attractions and activities. “It was nice to be able to do many road trips (like Fort Knox). Ethan also purchased a game system! There were a lot of smiles and happy memories made and quality time spent as a family. Thank

Harley is like many other 13-year-old boys and loves video games. For his dream wish of a bedroom makeover, he updated his room to include a game room under his bed! Harley, with cerebral palsy, had his dream sponsored by the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation. Harley’s mom said, “Harley is so excited about his room so far.” We can’t wait to see what else you add!

Six-year-old Caden, diagnosed with acute dissemi-nated encephalomyelitis, received his dream shop-ping spree. Caden's mom said, “Thanks to you all, Caden has more storage for his medical supplies; a working tv for his favorite Disney movies and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse; cars, trucks, and tools!”

Teens Making Masks to Support Sunshine Foundation

Power of Blue is a nonprofit organization that seeks to bring like-minded teens together who want to get involved and make a difference.

During November and December, Power of Blue raised $900 from proceeds from their mask and merchandise sales, which they donated to Sunshine Foundation to help make dreams come true!
