November 2010 OCM project launched

December 2010 Mapping assignment processes

March 2011 Technical development started

September 2011 OCM 1.0 due for full release

January 2012 OCM 1.0 pilot released (4 months late)

April 2012 OCM 1.1 development commenced

August 2012 Pilot finished (60% completion)

September 2012 OCM 1.1 development abandoned

What Happened to OCM1?

•Functionality. Did not meet diverse College needs

•Technically. Was not robust

•Change. Huge impact of switch to online marking

•Support. Underestimated the support needed

What are we doing now?

New approach:• Review assessment policy and practice

• Better staff engagement and support

• Better software to suit Exeter’s needs

• Interim eSubmission options

How can I get involved?

We need champions to:

• Spread the word in Colleges

• Assist with product evaluation

• Research evidence of impact of on-line marking

• Review assessment practice

• Identify interim solutions and improvements
