Speaker: Russell Mason President Investment Management Institute

8:30 AM The Benefits Of OCIO An increasingly complex and challenging investment environment has motivated institutional investors to consider more comprehensive approaches for managing their assets. As investment committees, Boards and finance executives continue to find the task more challenging, many are electing to outsource investment management. Depending on the individual organization the reasons for electing to outsource might vary yet the subsequent benefits are relatively consistent. This panel discussion will focus on how investors ranging from defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans, nonprofits and healthcare organizations have benefitted from investment outsourcing. Through case study examples and latest industry research, the discussion will highlight a variety of benefits including added layers of fiduciary protection, additional resources to complement current staff, quicker decisions around manager changes and enhanced diversification and access to managers with high investment minimums.

needs to be attentive to the nuances of committees and their mandate. Transitioning from a traditional advisory
