In August, a "gate to a parallel world (Gate)" suddenly opens in broad daylight in Ginza, Tokyo. A grotesque army of a parallel world rushes in through the "Gate". The Ground Self-Defence Force fights them off immediately, and step inside the "Special Region" on the other side of the Gate.
