Dear friends, As we all know, at the core of capoeira – lies friendship, which is the motivation for the gathering at least once per year, where we get to celebrate the transitions of our students. I want to thank you in advance for your presence at our event this year.

Grupo Ondas strongly believes in the synergy that is created when people from different backgrounds and experiences come together. It contributes to a richer, more profound experience for us all. Although Capoeira is a Brazilian sport of African origins, it has become a world sport that respects and encompasses the contributions of individuals from around the globe.

This is the tentative plan for the DAY OF THE GRADUATION.

TESTING DAYS -  Regular class uniforms apply -  Ondas students only… testing will include history, music, and physical fitness. Be sure to review your curriculum requirements – and talk to your mentor or OL if you have questions.

Wed, 8/15 - PREPARATION DAY -  We will be holding the preliminaries for the tournament to decide who will be representing the schools -  Come help or learn how to get a cord ready for the dying process. -  No need for formal uniform.

Thurs, 8/16 - OPENING DAY Aulao means “Big class”. So – on Thursday, we will be holding a group class/warm-up/stretch – and follow it with the official opening of our encounter. We will use that time for transition cords as well.

Fri, 8/17 ANGOLA NIGHT – Angola Attire Only (pants, Shirt Shoes – ANY COLOR) Angola night is our tribute to the Angola system and traditions. Be sure to come in Angola attire. That is, pants, belt, shirt and shoes. You are encouraged to be creative and have some fun with your individuality.

Sat, 8/18 - CONTEMPORANEA DAY During the Workshops -- Regular class uniform applies (Abadas, Ondas uniform T-shirt (either blue, white, or black), and cord) At Graduation -- White abadas and the event Tshirt -- Guests: Please be on time for the check-in at 2:15pm (80 Washington St, Providence RI -- Paff Aud) At Waterfire Demonstration -- Uniform same as above -- Report to the Main Basin by 6pm Black Light Party -- Come dressed in WHITES or FLUORESCENT Colors. BE CREATIVE -- We encourage you to wear an undershirt – be ready to sweat… -- NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES -- The event is Child friendly
