Transcript of Occupy Wall Street
Yes, maybe protestors are unorganized, and there is a conglomeration of issues, but at least they
are making a stand! Last week I watched a video of a young man ranting about many practices
and issues regarding our government. Many would consider his ranting as merely opinions, but I
believe them to be facts. Do I know all the answerers to his argument? No. I do not know all
the measures government should take to satisfy protestor’s feelings. Is it my job to tell the
government how to do their job? I guess so, that is why I have a right to vote. The article asks,
“do protestors want higher taxes for the rich”. I think that it is somewhat safe to say that
protestors probably do not want income taxes at all! I by no means claim to know everything
about our government and what they should and should not do, but I have read the constitution,
and apart from the 16th amendment, it does not say anything about an income tax. In fact, I
believe that the 16th amendment regarding taxes is unconstitutional. I am not going to write
what anyone could take upon himself or herself to read, but it did not take any outside source for
me to realize that something was amiss after reading it. In addition, Alan Greenspan, himself,
confirmed that the Federal Reserve has nothing to do with the actual government. Private
shareholders own the Federal Reserve. I am so glad there are people standing up for what is right
or better stated, for what is wrong with the government. The Federal Reserve is WRONG!
Income taxes are WRONG! The 16th amendment of the United States constitution regarding
taxes is wrong! Most of all, Americans are wrong! Ultimately, no one got us here except for us.
America needs to fight back by way of voting, educating oneself, and most of all by forming our
own opinion, rather than forming them based on what others tell us. I do not want government
handouts like food stamps or TANIF! I do not want government to assist me with my housing! I
do not want the government to pay my medical bills or provide me with insurance! I do not want
Medicare or Social Security, but then again, I do not want it taken away from my 65-year-old
mother. She paid for it. Let her keep what is rightfully hers and let us keep what is ours NOW!
What I do want is for my government to establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide
for my common defence, promote my general Welfare, and secure Blessings of Liberty to me
and my Posterity, as laid out by the Constitution for the United States of America.
