moved at no distant date and a more imposing modern structure erected Still another plan is that a large and uptodate livery business will be opened on the northeast corner next to the federal building and a suitable building for same to be erected Mr Ray has money to invest where he can see a safe and profitable investment- and that he sees such in Ocala is evi- denced ¬ by this purchase concerts last evening from the band stand in the public square The evening was ideal the courthouse grounds and in fact the entire square was well lighted and at least 500 people gathered about the square in widely scattered groups to Sear the music i The square presented a beautiful appearance the prettiest any town in the state can show and the scene was similar to the plaza of a big city in some Spanish country of the tropics Since the new courthouse was built the grounds beautified and the streets paved the citizens gather about sit on the curbs of the streets the court- house ¬ I steps and walks as well as on the veranda of the Ocala House and the children get double enjoyment out of the evening by romping about the splendid walks of the courthouse yard and around the paved streets The program rendered last evening by the band was a very superior one fsnd many of those tho heard the music say it was the best concert the boys ever gave This band is a credit to the statenot alone in Ocala It is composed almost entirely men en ¬ gaged in business the very best of our leading citizens jind a few of the ycunger men How and when they find time from their business and home life to give the necessary time- to practice is a mystery and that they are able and willing to give our citlr zens such music should be highly ap ¬ preciated- The band never asks a dollar of the citizens of the city except for their necessary equipment or rather for irusic uniforms and room rent as the individual members own their qwn in- struments ¬ some of them most valua- ble ¬ ones The boys just now THE BAND CONCERT

The Metropolitan Band gave another-of its enjoyable openair concerts lastevening from the band stand in thepublic square The evening was idealthe courthouse grounds and in fact theentire square was well lighted and atleast 500 people gathered about thesquare in widely scattered groups toSear the music i

The square presented a beautifulappearance the prettiest any town inthe state can show and the scene wassimilar to the plaza of a big city insome Spanish country of the tropicsSince the new courthouse was builtthe grounds beautified and the streetspaved the citizens gather about siton the curbs of the streets the court-house

¬I steps and walks as well as onthe veranda of the Ocala House andthe children get double enjoyment outof the evening by romping about thesplendid walks of the courthouse yardand around the paved streets

The program rendered last eveningby the band was a very superior onefsnd many of those tho heard themusic say it was the best concert theboys ever gave This band is a creditto the statenot alone in Ocala It iscomposed almost entirely men en ¬

gaged in business the very best of ourleading citizens jind a few of theycunger men How and when theyfind time from their business andhome life to give the necessary time-to practice is a mystery and that theyare able and willing to give our citlrzens such music should be highly ap ¬
