Categories for Appointment Clinical description Timeframe for Appointment Category 1 - Urgent Women in early pregnancy, who have not yet attended their booking in appointment, for counselling regarding a high risk Maternal Serum Screening Test result Pregnant women booked in at Frankston Hospital who require obstetric opinion for o review of abnormal results or o who the gp believes may no longer be suitable for shared maternity care due to maternal illness or concerns about the baby GP to contact Women’s Services Manager on 9784 8386 to arrange appointment. Category 2 - Routine Women who are seeking pregnancy care and are at high risk of complications during pregnancy as per Peninsula Health Risk Categories for Maternity Care Women who choose to have their care with an accredited GP are to return to the Obstetric clinic at 36 weeks for a pregnancy check. Routine appointments are held during pregnancy at 16, 20, 28, 31, 34, 36, 38 40 and 41 weeks or at the discretion of the obstetric consultant Routine review at 34-36 weeks

Emergency Pregnant women who require emergency review

Immediate via Emergency Department. OR Refer to “Pregnancy Assessment- When and How to Refer’ for advice on appropriate referral

Eligibility Criteria

• Patients must be referred by a doctor • Any patient who has attended a booking/appointment with Peninsula Health can have their appointments made in the Obstetric clinic.

Exclusions

Patients who live out of Peninsula Health’s geographical boundaries must contact appropriate health service in their area
