Skills

My skills include 15 years of advanced audio engineering and music production experience in recording, mixing, and professional studio design. I have worked as a consultant for business and clients seeking estimates and application of professional sound design through Dreamtime Productions LLC. I have designed arena sized live sound performance and recording equipment estimates for companies such as C&S Communications under budget, and consulting and maintenance for private recording studios such as Dr. Wade Brown’s Studio C16, based in Tallulah, LA. Finding creative solutions in a technical environment. An example of this is the application of sound absorption utilizing proprietary ceramic paints such as Super-Therm™. In 2008, I purchased SuperTherm™ from Jackson; MS based Distributor Bill Griffin (http://www.spicoatings.com/products_solutions/super_therm) for testing in a professional class a recording studio after I read the specifications brochure. Super Therm™ was used as the paint on all NASA Space Shuttles for heat and fire resistance and is now used on major U.S. transportation trains and in home construction for energy conservation and fire/insulation properties.

(Room B, Dreamtime Productions L.L.C (2010) Jackson, MS (2010) Photography by Laura Meek)My testing of SuperTherm™ confirmed that the proprietary ceramic-based paint stopped most standing waves and acoustic reflections better than thousands of dollars of acoustic foam and insulation. Later in 2009-2010, however Sony™ patented the use of SuperTherm™ for professional sound application. I currently am a voting member of the Audio Engineering Society, AES™ 2012. Associate member since 1997. AES is the world’s audio standardization group, a non profit group dedicated to promoting the science of audio engineering and the establishing of standards of audio encoding and audio hardware used professional recording, production, and consumer listening devices. In 1999, I was sponsored by User Friendly, a Jackson, MS Apple Authorized Service Center and became an Apple Certified Macintosh Technician on August 10, 1999. I am currently taking the AppleCare™ ACMT recertification training for 2014 in progress.Volunteer Broadcast Production Engineer for WJSU 88.5FM. My daily job duties included afternoon broadcast console operation and reading the daily weather report. In addition, I loaded associated press news samples into the rotation table and daily content for the 5 p.m. news including programming the musical media broadcast on WJSU 88.5FM. I also learned the operation of the Emergency Alert System, and installation of additional cabling and equipment through Chief Engineer Dale Morris. Most of my job function consisted of in house recording and editing of recorded programs for broadcast on WJSU 88.5 FM. The ability to mix in surround, along with classic analog summing/mixing with modern high resolution digital audio recording and editing/mixing requires digital clocking, and time code synchronization utilizing SMPTE. The ability to record analog and digital editing systems is essential, as the sonic nature and texture through the use of both analog and digital equipment tends to yield the best fidelity in audio broadcast, recording, and film.Dreamtime Productions LLC Equipment List:Amek/TAC™ Matchless 26x8x2 analog console with TT Bantam patch-bayTascam™ DM3200 Digital Mixing Console and Computer recording Interface.Tascam™ DV-1000, Direct Stream Digital™ Recorder.Digidesign™ 003 Rack+ 8 channel, Fire wire™ DAW interfaceDigidesign™ 002 digital mixing console and DAW interfaceMackie™ 1204 VLA 12 channel side cart mixing consoleDigital and Analog RecordersAlesis™ ADAT HD24 XR 24bit, 96 KHz track Direct to disk hard disk multi track digital audio recorder.Mara Machines™ MCI™ JH-24, 2 inch, 24 track, analog multi-track recorder Class A Digital and Analog Mastering Recorders
