Installing Open Badge Factory LTI Integration

on Blackboard LMS

Open Badge Factory LTI Integration


Prerequisites

Before registering your LTI-credentials you need an account on openbadgefactory.com

To set up the LTI connection, you also need administration privileges on you Blackboard LMS -system


1. Go to:https://openbadgefactory.com/ltiapp/manage/consumers/register

2. Open https://openbadgefactory.com/in another tab, to retrieve your API key

Paste the API key here


Click here to startthe guided setup process


Select yourLMS type

(blackboard)

Proceed to the next step


HTTPS url ofyour Blackboard

Password defined in Blackboard System Admin

(Building blocks > Proxy Tools > Manage Global Properties)

Click next totest if everything

works.


You will get a message ifregistering the tool was a

success.

If registering the toolwas a success, resume

by clicking next.

If registering the toolfailed, return to previous

step and fix any mistakes, by clicking back.


In Blackboard:Set the Proxy Tool

Availability.(show on thenext slides)

over OBF-LTI.Click Edit.

If the Proxy Tool Availability is set,you will get a confirmation

message the API is working.With a working API,Finish the setup to

Receive instructions on setting up a placement for the LTI Tool in Blackboard.


To place the LTI toolto Blackboard courses,You need to create aLTI Tool Provider in

your Blackboard LMSand make a

placement for it.(Blackboard steps on the next slides)

will appear in your course tools.


An item will appear in the Tools-section

of your course.
