SclerotherapySclerotherapy is method of

treating varicose veins which in-volves small injections of a spe-cifically made detergent into theveins, causing them to close upgradually.

The procedure is simple,relatively inexpensive, and canbe performed in an outpatientsetting.

Patients are able to drivethemselves home after the pro-cedure because no sedation isneeded for the relatively painlessprocedure. Prominent veinsfrequently have to be injectedmore than once. In any one treat-ment sessions many veins maybe injected.

Deeper and larger veins needto be treated first, sometimes re-quiring ultrasound diagnosis.Complications are extremelyrare but will be discussed dur-ing consultation and are out-lined in the website.
