UK MoD Brief (D Def Log Info)Logistics Information Transformation Programme (LITP)

–Formed out of a Joint MoD/Industry Coherence Project, for logistics from ‘factory to foxhole’, whose outputs were:-

•A functional model•Information Exchange Flows•Mandated standards for logistics information exchange (PLCS, OAGIS 9.0, S1000D)

–Several Work-streams, including:-

• An Information Standards development process (joint MoD/Industry)•Integration of the Through Life Support Standard (TLSS) process model with the LITP functional model and Information Exchange Flows•Other, Industry generated, initiatives that will build on the outputs of the Coherence Project

–Will need the development of a single mapping between the logistics information exchange flows and PLCS to provide the interoperability requirements of the DLO

SOA–Business services will be developed for logistics processes–Will require development of PLCS mapping to services

UK MoD Brief (TES)Through Life Support Standard (TLSS)

–TLS process model developed (based on PLCS AAM)–Information Flows generated from extant logistics standards–Proposed methodology for the mapping of information flows, through business objects, to PLCS via templates (many of which still need to be created)–Tailoring tool being developed to generate contractual data exchange, between MoD and Industry, derived from an aggregation of information flows

–Prototype data exchanges are being developed using •Failure reporting•Request for Codification

–Will contribute to the single mapping between the logistics information exchange flows and PLCS to provide the interoperability requirements of the DLO

RAF logistics system – LITS– Development of a mapping of information to form an ‘aviation

maintenance’ DEX (based mainly on DEX7) for sharing between MoD and multiple Industry partners

Naval logistics system - UMMS– DEX4 > Complete (Funding required for implementation)

– DEX9 > D Def Log Info examining ways of funding
