Volunteer Required at St Andrew’s I am looking to retire from providing tea, coffee, milk, biscuits etc. for the refresh-ments after our Sunday service. I intend to finish at the end of the year, or sooner if someone is willing to take over before then. It is not too arduous, it just requires a regular commitment. The sys-tem worked very well when I was off for two months recovering from an operation, it was shared between three people. If you feel that you are able to help with this much appreciated hospitality, please see me.

Thank you, Ian Sangster.

To all who helped make our fundraising day at St

Crux a success. We took £603.83 on the day!

Also to everyone who supported the Annual Gift Day at St Andrew’s yesterday. We will publish

how much has been raised next week.

Confirmation Preparation Classes have been postponed until the Spring (because of Panto rehearsals!)

Coffee Morning &

“Children’s Bake Off”*

Saturday 3rd November 10am to 12.30pm

St Andrew's Church Hall Bishopthorpe

* Children up to the age of 14 can enter by phoning Sam Powell on 07938559171 by 26th October, 2018. You must be able to bake a cake or biscuits at home to display at this event. We would like you to deco-rate them to make them relevant to Bonfire/Fireworks night. Then we would like you to draw your cake or biscuits and produce your recipe (in your own writing). The successful entries will hopefully be pro-duced in a booklet later which we are looking to sell to raise funds for The Children’s Society. Your recipe and drawing will be acknowledged therein.

Come and join us for a fun morning!

Collect of the Day

Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord,

to your faithful people pardon and peace,

that they may be cleansed from all their sins

and service you with a quiet mind;

through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,

who is alive and reigns with you,

in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, now and for ever.
