Preschool through 2nd graders performed songs with movements and encouraged audience participation; 3rd and 4th grade students performed traditional partner dances; and older students performed a play they had written, entirely in Spanish. As an added bonus, two recent graduates of the Pueblo’s FLI program presented, in Spanish, a slide show of the 5th grade’s graduation trip to Costa Rica last month. The entire event had the audience smiling, dancing and clapping along. They oohed and aahed in amazement of the fluency and accents of these young, non-native Spanish speakers.
