Mobile is the county seat of Mobile County, Alabama.The population within the city limits was195,111. making it the third most populous city inthe U.S. state of Alabama, the most populous in MobileCounty, and the largest municipality on the GulfCoast between New Orleans, Louisiana, and St.Petersburg, Florida.

Mobile is the largest city inthe Mobile-Daphne−Fairhope CSA, with a totalpopulation of 604,726, the second largest in thestate.
