Ben has served on our board forseveralyears,workingon our missions committee and facilities committee. He worksasanusheronSundays and at our Christmas Eve Event.
Les has served on our board as treasurer for several years. He oversees our Sunday morning helps ministry and oftenpreachesoneortwoSundays per year.
Adamservesonourworshipteam as one of the media members. He has taken part in other church outreaches, such as the Project Share Food Drive.
John serves as one of our ushers on Sunday mornings aswellasatourChristmasEve Event. He has taken part in other church outreaches, such as the Project Share FoodDrive

Motion: To accept the abovenoted as scrutineers. It was moved by Stephen Kovacs, seconded by Iantha Jinks and carried.

Quorumwasestablishedat63,halfofthechurchmembershiproundeduptothenextwholenumber.

9. 2016 HIGHLIGHTS
All ministry leaders provided highlights of their 2016 programs.
Worship – Joe Spokeaboutparticipatingintheservice.Theworshipteamhasbeentalkingaboutnotjust comingintoworshipbutalsotomakeaconnectionwithandintothepresenceofGod.Astheworshipteam,theywanttomakesurethatasachurchwecandropallourbaggageandcomeinandhaveafacetofaceencounterwithGod,eventhougheverythinginourlivesisnotalwaysperfect.
Worship – AnnekeTalkedaboutpruningandabidinginthevine.RestintheknowledgethatGodhascreatedfruitineach one of us.
Childrens – SusanSpokeaboutthegrowthintheKidsMinistry.SpokeaboutthesizeofVBS.Thatwehadover100people.SpokeabouthowkidscravethewordofGodanditissomethingthatstickswiththemforever, the kids engaging in corporate prayer.

Youth - Allysin LaunchedSeniorHighYouth.StartedasaLifeGroup.YouthstartedonThursdaynights.Youthisnowatabout12seniorhighand7juniorhighcomparedtothe3whenthegroupstartedinlate2016.Thegrowthandtheteaching.
Pastor Tim Baptismclasseswerestarted.TheotheristheNextStepClass.Thishasbeendonetoofferanopportunityfornewattendeesandhelpthemunderstandwhatisnextinthechurch.The completion of the Café also happened in 2017. The conversion to the second service also resultedingrowthimmediatelyuponimplementationandithascontinuedduring2017.PastorTim took the opportunity to thank everyone for their dedication and volunteerism a need that hasarisenoutofthegrowth.Thewaythechurchhassteppeduptosupportthegrowthhasbeen fantastic.

NWCaccountingrecordsarereviewedannuallybyexternal/3rdpartyaccountingfirm.TheletterattachedtothereportaffirmstheirreviewandthatNWCaccountingrecordsalignwithCanadianAccountingStandardsforNot-For-ProfitOrganizations

• Basedonthegenerosityofthecongregation,wehaveforthefirsttimeourrecenthistorybeen able to place money into savings.
• Weareinauniquepositionbutwealsowanttomakesurethatasboardweremaingoodstewardsofthefinances.
• The board recently formed a sub-committee to look at the building and property needs to assess the most important ones.
• Wehaveinstallednewsign,replacedallthelightsinthefoyerwithmoreenergyefficientalongerlastinglights,upgradedtheparkinglotlightswithmoreenergyefficientlighting.
• Thisyearwillalsoseethefamilybathroomofthismainfloorcompleted.Itwillhaveaproperchangetable,largeandsmalltoiletsandanewvanityandlighting.

• Wewillbecompletingrepairstothemultipurposeroomincludinginsulationandaceiling repairs,paintingofthenurseryroomfloorandthekidschurchroomthisyearand installationofanewegresswindowsinthe3-5yoroomtoensuretwopointsofegressfromthat room.
• Subjecttofutureboardapprovalwewillalsobelookingotherimprovementsthatwillmakethespacewehavemorefunctional.
• Oneitemthatwehavebeenapproachedandweallknowaboutistheparkinglot.Wehaveobtained an estimate to resurface and regard the parking lot and install catch basins and drainageandwithoutevenenlargingtheparkinglotitwoulduseupallofoursavings.Asaresult,theboardfeelsthatweneedtoconsiderotheroptionsandbegoodstewardsofthemoneythatisentrustedtoNWC.In2018theboardwillbelookingatotheroptionsthatmightalso meet our needs.
Bill Sterling asked about the estimated average attendance. Pastor Tim mentioned that our average attendance is about 250 people.
Julia Kelly askedifconsiderationwasgiventoreducingthemortgage.Peterprovidedan explanationbaseduponadvicethatwewereprovidedfromourFinancialAdvisor. Comfort Oyelakinaskedaboutquestionsrelatedtojobsandmakingtheconnectionswithinthe congregation. Stephen Kovacs asked about the parking lot. Peter and Les explained that there are some strategic decisions that need to be made before anything is done on the parking lot. Les explained the that parking lot funds are parked. Lois Carney askedaboutasignwithstrategicscriptureverses.PastorTimstatedthatitwasagreat thought and something that the board could consider.
Iantha Jinks asked about Worship services at night once a month through the City Church Network.

Ourdeclarationoffaithover2018wasthatwewouldhaveearstohearwhattheSpiritwassayingtousasachurch(Revelation3).SincewebelievethatGodisalwaysspeaking—boththroughHisWordandbyHisSpirit—itisourjobtomakesurethatwearelisteningandexpectingtohearHisvoice.Myencouragementtoyouisthatyoulookbackat2018andreflectonthethingsthatGodspoketoyou,whetherthroughtheWord,byHisSpirit,orinyourcircumstances.AsatestimonytoGod’sfaithfulness,IwanttosharesixthingsthatIbelievetheLord spoke to us as a church in 2018.
1. WE MUST CONTINUE TO DECLARE AND BELIEVE THAT OUR GOD IS A GOD OF MIRACLES.
No matter the situation, no matter the trial, no matter the diagnosis,wemustbelievethatthesameGodwhospokeeverything that exists into existence is still in the business of bringing about miraculous, supernatural, spontaneous change into our lives today.
2. GENEROSITY FLOWS OUT OF CONTENTMENT.
Inordertobearadicallygenerouspeople,wemustfirstdiscover,as the Apostle Paul calls it, “the secret of being content” (Philippians 4:12).Inordertocultivateagenerousheart,wemustlearntobegenuinelygratefulforwhatGodhasalreadygivenus.
3. WE MUST OPPOSE CULTURE WHEN IT OPPOSES CHRIST, AND EMBRACE CULTURE IN EVERY OTHER MANNER. Cultureisnottheenemyofthechurch.Thechurchitselfwasborninitsownculture.Cultureisneithermorallyrightorwrong—it
simplyiswhatitis!Toooftenthechurchhaswagedawaragainstculture,whileitsrealpurposeistotransformculturetoreflectChrist!TherearemanythingsaboutourculturethatopposeChrist—andinthoseareas,wemuststandfirmandholdfasttoourbeliefs!ButtherearemanythingsaboutourculturethatdonotopposeChrist—andinthoseareas,wemustbewillingtoembracecultureandutilizeitasameansofdrawingotherstowardsfaithinJesus.

4. QUESTIONING OUR FAITH IS NOT A SIN, IT IS A MEANS OF DEVELOPING OUR FAITH.
With an invitation to send in your questions for our “You Asked For It Series” I got more then I expected!ItwasahealthythingforustotakesometimetoanswerhonestquestionsthatflowoutofourdesiretounderstandGod’sWordandGod’swillforourlives.Letuscontinuetomakeroom for such conversations in our church gatherings.
5. WHO WE ARE TRUMPS WHAT WE’VE DONE… EVERY TIME.
OuridentityisfoundinourrelationshipwithJesus,notinourmistakes,mis-stepsandsins.Althoughwehavefallenandstillexperiencemomentsoffailureduetooursin,wecanwalkthroughthislifewithpeaceknowingthatouridentitywithGodisfoundinwhoHesaysweare,andnotwhowe(oranyoneelse)says(orthinks)weare.
6. THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT
Thisstatementringstrueinsomanyfacetsofourlives…butwebelievethattheLordspokethisspecificallytousasalocalchurchfamily.ThisbeautifultruthgaveustheboldnessandthecouragetoobeywhatwebelievetheLordhasplacedbeforeusasassignmenttobe fulfilledin2019—togetoutofdebt!Wehaveseencontinuedfinancialincreaseoverthelast5years,andbelievethatitisamatterofobediencetoGodthatournextsignificantfinancialstepistogetoutofdebtsowecanbereadyforwhatHehasnext!OurdesireistoliveinGod’sbest,andbeingdebtfreeisasignificantpartofthatpicture.ThankyouforyourcommitmenttohelpingusbeobedienttothiswordfromtheLord.
2018wasayearofmanyblessingsforNWC.Thankyouforbeingapart,andallowingGodtouseyou as a vital part of our church family.

OverthelastyearwehavefeltastrongcalltoremovedistractionsandfocusonthegiftsweallbringinworshiptoHim.Thishasledusasleaderstotakeastepbackandfocusonmanyareasintheworshipministry.Wewantedourworshiptocomeoutofaplaceofapureheartandthatmeans removing roadblocks that could hinder our effectiveness. To continually create an atmospherewherepeoplearefreetoworshipandexperiencethetangiblepresenceoftheHolySpirit.
HavingtwoserviceseverySunday,meanswehavemoretimetospendinworship.Thisalsomeanswehavedoublethetimewheretechnicalissuescouldariseandhavecompletelydifferentvariables.Weknowthatit’salmostimpossibletohaveaservicewithoutanyglitchesnoristhistheactualgoalofourworship.However,inallfairnessthemoreissueswehavethelessthecollectivebodyendsupfocusingonHimandenteringintoworship.Manymembersofthecongregationhavestatedinthepastthattheylovedworshipbutoftenhadahardtimeenteringinbecauseofdistractionscausedbynoise,equipmentissues,non-equalizedtonesandso on.
Wedecidedtomakethisagoalfor2018.Thegoalwastoventureoutandcreateapathofchangebycultivatinganatmospherewhereweaimedtoremovedistractionsthattakeusawayfromengaging in His Presence.
Westartedoffbyunderstandingtheproblemswefacedandwhoweareasministry.WeallhaveourgiftsthatGodhasgivenus. We all have a desire to see His presence revealed in a mighty wayandweallhaveadesireforchange.Thispointedustounderstandthatthedistractionsorproblemswefacedeachweekwereitemswecouldn’tcontrolonourown.Theywereissues that demanded more time, constant monitoring, continuedgrowthintechnicaldevelopment,aknowledgebaseand accountability to press on to see the items resolved. Our soundteamisamazing,butourneedsasministryhavedrasticallyoutgrownourtimecapabilities.Wecouldn’toperateatthelevelweneededbecausetoomanynewtaskskeptgettingaddedtothepile.Weneedednewequipmentandasoundtechon staff to accomplish this goal.

InAugustof2018wehiredoursoundtechJustin,whohasbeenhelpingusfulfillthemandatewesetout.Wehaveovercomemanyreoccurringissuesandhavebeguntoputinplaceitemstoresolveandbringchangeforthefuture.Wearenowrunningweeklyauditreportsofissuesandcreatingatangibleworkbackapproachforchangeandprevention.
The success has been evident in the ministry and church. We have had many members of the congregationstatetheycanfinallysitintheserviceandworshipwithouthindrances.Wehaveseengrowthinthenumberofpeoplearrivingearlysotheycanbeapartofourcorporateworship.Ourteamaswholeisfunctioningascollectivebodywithagoalofcreatinganatmosphereforworship.Webelievethat2019willbeayearofgreatchange,rewardandreleasefor Niagara Worship Centre.

YOUTH MINISTRYAllysin Van YsseldykYouth Pastor
SR. HIGH (GR. 9-12) 2018wassuchanamazingyearfortheyouthministrydepartmentatNiagaraWorshipCentre.Wehadofficiallyhadayouthprogramrunningforafullyear,and2018wasour second full year of running a Thursday night program. WetrulyhaveanamazingcommunityofSr.High’sinourchurch.Watchingthemgrowinrelationshipwithoneanother,aswellaswithleadershasbeenincredible,butnothingbeatsthemomentswhereGodisspeakingdirectly to them.
OurThursdaynightshaveevolvedquiteabitfromwhenwehostedasmallgroupatmyapartment,butthegoalalwaysremainsthesametocommunicatetheunconditionalloveofGodtoourSr.Highs, so they can go and unconditionally love those in theirlives.LastMaywetookfourofourstudentstoadistrictyouthconference,andwhileweweretherewegottospendtonsoftimebuildingfriendshipswitheachother,butalsopursingGod.Weprayedwithourstudentsfor freedom, for encouragement, and for revelation. It’s beenincrediblewatchingourstudentsnotonlygrowinrelationshipwitheachotherandGodbutalsoseeingthemon the journey of self discovery.
JR. HIGH (GR. 6-8)Jr.Highhasbeenonanincrediblejourneyin2018,we’vegoneonacoupledifferentretreatstogetherwherewehaveencounteredthepresenceofGodinsucharealway.AndI’veseensuchagrowthandchangeinourstudentsastheydiscovermoreandmoreaboutwhotheyareandwhoGodis.ThereissuchanexcitementinourgroupaboutThursdaynights,andstudentsareconstantlybringingnewfriendsoutastheywanttosharetheexperiencewithothers.We’reinareally exciting time as momentum is building, more and more studentsarecomingoutandwe’reseeinglivesbeingchanged.

Withthesethingsasourguidelinesforthenightit’samazingtoseetheenvironmentourstudentshavecreatedwhereanyoneiswelcome,everyoneisincluded,andwestrivetoonlysaythings that building each other up. It makes for a place that anyone is able to come and experience the incredible life changing love of Jesus.
It has been so fun to be part of the creating and building of a youth ministry at Niagara Worship CentreandI’msoexcitedabouteverythingGodhasdone.ButI’mevenmoreexcitedforthefuture of the youth ministry here and the things that are next. I truly believe that the best is yet to come.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRYSusan KrygerDirector of Children’s Ministry
NWCKidzhadanotherexcitingyearin2018!!!Everyweekwewelcomedchildrenwhowereea-gerandreadytolearnmoreaboutGod.OnatypicalSundaymorningwehad50ormorechildreninattendance.Ouramazingvolunteersmadeitpossibleforustoprovideclassesforeach of the children.
EachweekweprovideageappropriateBiblicallearningforeverychildinalovingenvironment.Thechildrenaredismissedtotheirclassesbasedontheirageandtheyarepresentedwithdifferent Bible stories and practical truths that they can apply to their lives. During 2018, I had
thejoyofgettingtoknowmanyofthechildren.Everytimetheycometochurchtheylookforwardtotellingtheirteachersabouttheirweekandtheexcitingthingsthatarehappeningintheirlives.Wealsospendtimeeveryweektalkingabouttheirprayerrequestsandprayingforeachother.ItissoamazingtowitnessthechildrenprayingfortheirfriendsandfamiliesandrecognizingthatwehavealovingGodwhoanswerstheirprayers.
OurmonthlyKidznightprogramhascontinuedtobethehighlightofthemonthformanyofthechildrenwhoattend.Onthefirst WednesdayofthemonthwewelcomechildrenfromNWCandalsothosewhodonotregularlyattendonSundaymornings.WespendtimeeachnighttalkingaboutwhatitmeanstobeaChristianandtheexcitingplansthatGodhasforeachofus.Wealsofilltheeveningwithfungames,coolcraftsandlotsofyummysnacks.AtNWCKidzwearealwayslookingforwaystoreachmorechildrenforJesus.
VacationBibleSchoolhasbecomeamuchanticipatedweekeverysummer.VBS2018wasanamazingweekwithover90childrenregistered.Wewereabletoprovideafunfilled,FREEweekforchildrenenteringJK,allthewayuptograde6.ManyofthechildrenwhocameoutdonotattendourchurchandforsomeofthemitwasthefirsttimetheyweretoldaboutJesus.Itwasanincredibleopportunity to present the gospel to the children from our

We continue to encourage everyone to invite their friends and neighbours to these funfillednights.

Hello church family,
CelebrateRecoverywillbecelebratingtenyearsinministryonMarch2019.Thankyouforyourcontinuedprayersandongoingfinancialsupport.
Overthepasttenyears,wehaveseenGodchangeandhealmanyindividualsthroughthisministryandlastyearwasnoexception.Lastyearwesawasteadyflowofpeoplecomethroughtheprogram.Inadditiontotrainingupseveralnewleaders/mentors,wesawmanyindividualssuccessfullycomplete the program. Those graduates have remained free oftheirissuesthattheywerebattlingandarecontinuingtheirwalkwiththeLordbypursuingtheirpurposesoutsideCR.Sogreat! We also had several Americans attend our program this last year.Thiswasveryexcitingforus-ourprogramwasknownacross the international border. They attended both the weeklymeetingsaswellasourmonthlyleaderstrainingses-sions. They have returned across the border to start meetings tohelpthosestrugglingintheirowncommunity.Wecurrentlyhave11leaderswhohavebeentrainedtodisciplethosestruggling.Wealsohavetwonewleadersjustfinishingup their discipleship training. Thenumberonequestionwegetaskedis,“Is CR just for people struggling with addictions?”Theansweris,“NO!”CRisforeveryoneandforallissuesincludingaddictions.Themostcommonissuesweseearepornography addiction, emotional and addictive problems stemming from sexual, verbal and physical abuses, codependency, anxiety and depression.
Beloved I pray that you will prosper and be in health just as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2Thebiblesaysthatthereisaconnectionbetweenyoursoul(mind,willandemotions)andyourhealthandprosperity.Manyoftheproblemsoremotionalissuespeoplearedealingwitharecomingfromtheirsouls,butmostneverknowit,sotheydon’ttakeactionthatcouldsetthemfree.GodsaysinHosea 4:6 “my people perish for lack of knowledge.”

Ourpurposeistoprovideasafeandconfidentialplacewhereindividualscangethelpthroughsmallgroupsupportandoneononementoring.WemeeteveryTuesdayforworship,biblicalteaching, personal testimonies and small group sessions. Our lessons cover many topics such as, whyarewestillstrugglingifJesushasalreadydoneeverythingforusthroughHisdeathburialandresurrection,howdoestraumaandsinwoundyoursoul,theimportanceofGod’spresence,thedifferencebetweenspiritsoulandbody,whymustwerepentandforgive,whatdoestheBiblesayweshoulddowhilewe’restillstruggling. Our free monthly Hotmeal community outreach dinners are currently serving 70 to 80 individualsandfamilies.WereceivedadonationfromtheNiagaraCommunityFoundationwhichallowedustopurchaseabadlyneedednewBBQwhichwenowsharewiththechurch.Wehaveseenarealsenseofcommunitydevelopwithourguestswhohaveevenstartedbringinginfoodtohelpout.Thatisamazing.Ourleadersandvolunteershavebecomefamiliarwiththeregularsandwonderfulrelationshipsareforming.Thishasgivenusmanyopportunitiestoprayforthem.We have even had some come to us for prayer.
WeopeneveryHotmealdinnerwithashortpersonaltestimonyfollowedbyanopportunityforpeople to commit their life to Christ. We have had over 15 salvations this past year. The number ofparticipantsattendingourweeklymeetingsis25to40,whichisanincreaseofabout30%!A big thank you goes out to our Hotmeal volunteers and to the many local businesses that are donatingfinances,foodandpersonalcareitems.WestartedaFREEdonationtable,whereweprovide blankets, shampoo, socks, toothpaste, hats, scarfs and Christian books to all those attending. Your donations are greatly appreciated. We are asking each church family to consider donatingjustoneoftheabovementioneditemseverymonth.Togetherwedomakeadifference.
